UDE1 is an easy manual install on your box if the autoinstaller is giving you grief.. I assure you that you can use the update.xbe from slayers. Look at the official thread for step by step in you are interested..

Okay, I myself have never installed UDE with xboxhdm, therefore I'm not the best help when it comes to that route.
However, If you have xbrowser ability, do this:

Grab the update.xbe from slayer's 2.5.
Place the update.xbe as xboxdash.xbe on the root of your C Drive.
Rename the original xboxdash.xbe to something like msxboxdash.xbe.
Take the fonts from the code below(rmenhal's old ude fonts) You could use the latest 70 fonts but I'm not sure which ones to use with the update.xbe from slayers.
I know these should work.
Place the font for your kernel version in the fonts folder and rename the others to a .bak extension.
Now, you will need to place a HABIBI signed XBE on E called default.xbe.
Insure that is HABIBI signed with xbedump.
If the default.xbe your placing here is PBL or NKPatcher make sure the xbe they plan to launch is in the correct folder.
Then reboot and enjoy your new softmodded box.

yes copy and paste the code into a notpad doc, and save as .bz2

Yes, save that to a text file, rename to .bz2, .uue, .b64 whichever and open with ICEOWS or Winrar either should work. You'll find the fonts within.

I just tried creating the font archive file. When I try to open the file with Winrar it tells me it is corupt or unknown type. I pasted the code into notepad and saved the files as .bz2. I copied the code starting with the B (in Begin) and ended it with the last "=".

Well, thats what I did. Could the code be missing some characters / have some extra spaces or something?

Can you try to see if you can create the file and unzzip?

Again thanks a bunch for the help. I am pretty computer savy, this isn't rocket science.

Got it. I had to rename the UNKNOWN.001 with a tar.bz2 extension and then it worked.
