As long as both hdds are the same brand it should clone perfectly.  (Seagates have f: WD does not).  Or you could use winhex and clone only the C partition regardless of brand.  One factor that MIGHT be an issue is if the target xbox has a kernel above 5530.  These boxes will not load the dash required for audio exploit. The kernel is on a chip, and cant be changed without soldering and flashing the tsop.  That is the only check on the software you need to worry about I believe.

Ok great thanks.

Now do you know if the game Driver 3, when the live tab is activated it updates the dash, does that affect the kernel.

An official Xbox Disk can't update the kernel can it?  Basically I can’t check because the Xbox won't boot past the Error 21.

So, im just getting ready to repair the Xbox.  So I was thinking hot swap and Boot XBOXHDM from CD then copy the C Drive backup from my other Xbox to the corrupt Xbox.

So basically if I do that the Xbox won’t reject it.  Correct?  Obviously assuming it doesn’t have kernel 5530 which im sure it doesn’t as its well over 2 years old.  Unless of course, MS can upgrade the kernel using Driver 3 for example.

One quick other thing I need to clear up,  if I can just copy C drive from my other Xbox to the corrupt Xbox that will effectively downgrade the dash that was upgraded by Driver 3.  Am I right?

Thanks for the help Brother.

Ok I just used xboxhdm, pure genius; I have restored the corrupt Xbox to its normal state.

THANK YOU ALL.
