if you want to change it to Avalaunch shouldint you just change the Avalaunch.xbe to defualt.xbe and have all the needed files to run Avalaunch right?

No its never that simple  rolleyes.gif

Get a package like the guys say, ltools MA is reccomended smile.gif

If you REALLY want to do it via FTP just go to the stickky UDE topics and get the latest fonts and a latest PBL.. then follow the readme you will get in the zip wink.gif

After this, you need to make the BIOS pbl loads boot ava insted of whatever dash it will by default..

or, you can simply overwrite the dash that you have running already with ava..

Remember it will go

Power on > exploit > pbl > dash

dont replace PBL with ava, that wont work  rolleyes.gif

Yes you can smile.gif theres a topic floating around the explains it wink.gif

All you need to remember is that orig games boot BEFORE any dash hacks do, so unless  M$ start HD scannin they wont know you have an exploit running smile.gif

I run tHc as my main.

And a modded Ava for Kai online gaming.

But I also have UnleashX, MXM and Evox on "just in case" my old package had the ability to "Swap" dashboards using a simple front end so I use a modded version of that wink.gif

tHc is the best "visual" dash, but it has no features, no FTP no file browser nothing like that, it just looks nice and boots apps and games smile.gif

this is one of the reasons i have the other dashes around, in case i need those extra features...

I'm finally modded!  Although I may have taken the long way.  I downgraded my dash to 4920 and used xboxhdm with softmod.  It was a piece of cake, it basiclly did everything for me and it runs great.  It installed PBL and Evox dash 3935. I loaded emulators and tons of roms...they all work fine. wink.gif

And exactly why did you downgrade to 4920 for?

QUOTE (hotboi @ Aug 12 2004, 06:32 AM)
Didn't know if it would work with a 5960 dash....I was trying to mod it with xboxhdm at first using the built in xbrowser...copying the bert and ernie files etc... and i couldn't get it to work...i did everything that the manual said...copy files, change extensions, used xbedump to sign default.xbe, etc...but i still had no success...so i figured it was the dash being 5960 instead of 4920.  All the tuts said tested on a 4920 also...so I gave it a shot using softmod with xboxhdm...Maybe softmod would have worked with my 5960 dash, i dunno, i didnt try it b/c i was tired of the trial and error....but ITS WORKING NOW!!! wink.gif

Would love to know which version of ldots hdm softmod you used? Only the older one would need 4920?

In that case you would be using Audio + Mechfonts  huh.gif

If this is true  cool.gif  get UDE!

If not  dry.gif  well done  jester.gif

This error 21 thing must be a common thing.  I got the same error trying to install UDE/UDE2 manually via ftp.  I also saw error 13 in my wanders.

I've since downloaded ltools v1.7.5 (taking the idiots way out).   ohmy.gif  I can't wait to get back to the house and try it out.   biggrin.gif

Can anyone comment on WHAT error 21 stands for?  is it file not found? or xbe not signed error or like a fonts error?  I spent a couple of hours this morning before work pissing and moaning everytime I saw it.  just curious what it stands for.

Its basically all of those things smile.gif

Software errors, missing files, currupt files etc...
