what size is the stock case fan?

has anyone added an intake fan? i think you could add a 70mm intake fan on the left side of the xbox (looking at it head on from the front). the motherboard doesn't have any really obtrusive things sticking up there, and there's enough vents to suck in air. or you could cut the metal.

having an intake fan, and upgrading the exhaust fan would help a lot with cooling, wouldn't it?

Aren't different versions of the Xbox different fan wise, mine is quiet (think it's a 1.4 as it has focus chip) whilst my mates sounds like a jet - original uk xbox.

What fan you got, depends on how much it was at the time of manufacturing.

so if you got it when there were price drops then u get a crappy jet sounding like?

dont think so tbh

me thinks as models progress teh fan will get quieter and be more productive and mabye some other nice tweaks.

they dont make money on the consoles,  they dont care what parts go in them (hence the thompson & phillip drives). The cheaper the bulk is what gets bought.

Fans with Ballbearing are alot quieter than fans with sleeve bearings,   I've seen the xbox come with both types.
