But what do you mean by "not up to date enough"? Anyway yeah, without opening your xbox there isn't much else you can do... 1.1 and 1.2 have a completely different board layout I think so that might be a help if you did open your xbox tongue.gif

i suppose that opening the xbox is my only option. i've never opened it before though, does anyone have a link to where it shows how to open and check the version?

Make sure you have torx screwdrivers, don't use allen keys or any other shit it'll just shred the screws... T20 for the outside T10 inside..

Indeed, Xbox is better than most of the PC I have opened. With the right screw driver, it is a pleasant experience. In fact, one thing I don't understand is why don't the PCs use its design(plastic case with metal shielding for EM). This I believe is the main reason why I can hold and move it with one hand.
