Coming soon to a browser near you.....

XGuides will be the product of Ricecake and Sarge's dream. A tutorial builder so to speak. It's currently being populated with information. As soon as those hard at work finish their job, there theoretically should be no excuse for people having trouble installing an exploit. Keep an eye on the site, there should be an announcement when it has been finished.

Lol, yep, so far Sarge has done all the work (lol) but adding tutorials will be the biggest job.

With this guide I'm trying to find a way to help everyone out a bit, by providing good details and the newest information possible. I'm not trying to make the "idiots guide to everything" because you should know the simplest things before you even consider downloading softmod tools, like how to not total the system. Softmods sure, they can be installed without opening the XBox, but in reality they can be a much bigger pain in the ass and alot more risky.

Argh...I'm kinda pissed today, so I typed up whats below...

<mainrant>
People who try hard to understand whats going on, and hang around here finding out how things work and what questions we frequently answer, are truly the best people to do softmods. They try to fully understand the risks, common problems, etcetera, before they attempt it themselves.

The idiots are the people I don't want to have a good time. They come here, and nag that the tutorials suck (Probably because they were designed so to do it, you need to be able to at least understand the simplest friggin' things...like what FTP means) and complain that they can't find their answers right in front of them (The forum provided us with a nice 'Mr. Search' for the time being). Then they whine that they want a 1-2-3 hold-your-hand guide so they can backup games so their other 13-year-old buddies think they're awesome. They then total the system, come here, and post an almost exact copy of a topic that some other idiot made less than 20 minutes ago.

I especially hate newbs who learn three things and think they know it all, cause problems, and leave me to help these people clean up the mess!  Trust me, I've been here almost forever, I've read almost everything and I've seen almost everything, and I guarantee you I still don't know close to it all. I think the chances of you beating me to it are slim to none. I especially hate it when I get told off from some eight-post-wonder because I posted the correct method to do something. Please please please, do not trust everything you hear. This is a public forum not a 1-800 help center, it comes with risks since we don't get paid to handle the situation perfectly, and anyone can come and go as they please and post whatever cockeyed answer they feel.

I guess what I'm saying is, once XGuides is up you should be able to understand and do everything. If you don't understand something its probably easy to figure out, or is well documented elsewhere. And if you can't handle that, then don't softmod, and go back to preschool. You should have at least an understanding of how computer software works, some amateur computer skills, and how Xbox software works before you complain. I'm not saying you need to be a professional, you just need to understand at least things like no, the kernel is not a hard drive file!
</subrant>

You wouldn't believe how stupid some people are, like "Whats my Xbox'es IP address?".

...

How the fuck would I know?!

I'm sure RiceCake is not taken revenge on anybody or flaming noobs in generel. We all have to learn at some point, we were all noobs once. You never know enough about xbox hacking, or hacking in generel.

What is anoying are the noobs coming in here and not taking the time to learn the basics before blaming the hard working people that their tools and tutorials are no good.
