Anyone Think There Is A Need For...
« on: July 29, 2004, 01:05:00 PM »

I've been trying to teach myself VB.net in my spare time, so for my first app I made a GUI that has devz3ro's patching exe's built in (hope he doesn't mind) to patch to the NFL fever version.  Here's how it works.

You select an xbe file, it will check the MD5 hash (against the known values) to see if it's patchable.  If it is, another button becomes enabled and allows you to select the patched xbe's output location and filename.  If you select an invalid xbe to patch, it asks you to select another.

If there is a need/request for this, maybe someone here can host it. It's about the same size as devz3ro's zip (530K).  Might be a little more noob friendly.

Current Limitations: I don't seem to have the correct MD5 hash for the 5960 update.xbe so it doesn't work for that version. It's an easy fix once i have the correct hash. n/m thanks to devz3ro this is fixed...

Oh, and you need version 1.1 of the .NET Framework installed.

Edit: I just took screen shots of the main window... everyone already know what a open and save as file dialog window looks like.  And after patching an explorer window pops up in the directory you saved the output file to.

Very Nice, I'd be glad to add the utility to the pinned thread after it is hosted somewhere. Maybe you can submit it to HSD or XanTium for a news announcement as well as addition to the tools section.

Not much eye candy, but simple to use, and hopefully error free now thanks to devz3ro.  There was an issue with using folders containing spaces.

devz3ro was kind enough to replace his original zip with my windows version...

You can d/l it in The UDE2 Thread

Don't forget you need the 1.1 .NET Framework if you don't have it installed already.

Get it at Windows Update
