Well alot of request later...

Here u r guys A Simple & Straight forward means to playing Xbox Live on ur UDE/UDE2 xbox smile.gif

EASY STEPS TO USING UDE/UDE2 ON XBOX LIVE

1. Have Your Xbox in a Retail State (No Exploit Whatsoever)

2. Setup Your xbox live account & let XBL Upgrade Your Current MS Dashboard to the Latest Version Automatically.

3. Install UDE/UDE2 Softmod Exploit. And to be safe always choose a XBL Safe BFM Bios like X2 4980-81 booting Red Led so U know if its on.

4. Boot with a retail game inside the drive (the game has to be in it when you turn on the xbox) and it will bypass UDE/UDE2.

Now you can go into XBL safely from the retail game.

Enjoy Mate, We all did  smile.gif

I would pin, but it's not 100% accurate. While this is almost correct, most games (not new) require a xbox live update (new levels, bug fixes etc.) Without these updates installed, you will get sent back to the original live 2.0 dashboard (which isn't there when UDE1 / UDE2 is installed.) I explained this very briefly here. Add this and I will be glad to add it to the tutorials post.

2) Use the New Ude 2, PBL Metoo and whatever bios that corresponds to your Xbox Kernal Version...look it up in the pin section if you do not know...This will allow you to be able to use the newest dashboard version 5659.03.... instead of 4920..... Pal readers follow the instruction in the UDE 2 post about how to change your xbox version to NTSC in order to load UDE 2.

Dude why the hell are you advising on people to mess with their eeprom to use the UDE2. UDE2 is only beneficial for 5713 or up kernels. If you have a kernel lower than 5713 you should stick with UDE1 Especially when you have a PAL xbox.
Also if you changhed your region to ntsc you would have to import all your live games since you couldn't go live anymore with your own games!

Dev: Usually when a game is downloading it's HDD signed version of itself it will be using the update.xbe contained within the Disc. So no worry abotu a kick back to the onlinedash. When it is downloading new maps from the 'download content' section of the game; it is using the downloader.xbe contained on the disc. I've never had problems with downloading any updates at all as long as I booted with a retail on power on.

wink.gif  I agree w/ you when it comes to pal xbox's but the UDE 2 allows for use of a newer dash instead of the 4920 dash, doesn't XBL look for your dash version and if it sees an older version it will try to update before letting you play online?
Edit to what I said in an earlier post; PAL users should just stick to UDE 1 it's probably the simpiest way...Thanks Krayzie.

W/ Angerwound's post;
Great comment, no probs. It is probably true but the update.xbe will want to update your dashboard and thus look at xboxdash.xbe to see if it's authentic. If not = hammers ur xbox files especially on c: drive. At least that is what I have learned when it done it to me cool.gif

I have never tried it because of my understanding, but are you 100% sure? The way I understand it is: When you go to update a game, it pulls the update.xbe from the DVD (d:\update.xbe). This update, like all updates calls on the fonts located in C:\fonts or the root of C:\ to display the "updating title" etc. If the fonts are malformed, shouldn't the update.xbe crap out or lock? Test it out again just to be positive.

I was a bit wrong, the update.xbe even from the disc will call the fonts dir, therefore if you with to run this file from the disc ( downloaded the updated engine ) you will need to set your original dash back first.

Downloader.xbe should work however.

Xbox Saves Manager can make a backup and delete it for you. This way you can make the backup, delete, see if it updates, then just send all your maps back.
