I'm using the 1.7.5 MA version

when I originally tried it i go the following error

looking for update.xbe in game save dir: [not found]

looking for update.xbe in c:\xodash : [OK]

did not find the required files in the game save dir ...
exiting!

you can now safely turn of your xbox...


everyone seemed to insist it must be my update.xbe soooo I went through the trouble of getting the update.xbe from slayers installer

followed the steps in this tutorial and included it with my stuff
now i get the following error

looking for update.xbc in game save : archive :update.xbe.zip
Inflating: update.xbe

unzip: short read
[OK]

could not find the required files in the game save dir...
exiting!

you can now safely turn off your xbox


this clearly says to me that something besides the updage.xbe is missing and I don't know what it is :|


*edit*

I've been trying to move it over via ftp through an exploit i already had on it and anyhow soo I decided to go back and try it with the action replay card and it worked! soo while I don't understand why the ftp didn't work I'm glad i at least got it to work!

After I install UDE will i be able to back up games right away? Or do I have to do something else also?

does it matter what my k and d #'s are? because i can't find them. i'm using the part 1 and part 2 zip files for the SC exploit.

edit:  Can i use these files on any xbox?

Other people have also told me to go to system info and wait until the copyright info stops scrolling, but i've done that and waited forever, and i swear no numbers show up.

That's why if the numbers don't matter i'll just try to install it.

I'd guess you don't have a retail SC disc or haven't loaded it in your box yet eh.?

Good plan tbone6!  When you get it, unplug your Xbox network connection (if it has one) and then boot SC ... it will then automatically upgrade your dash to 4920.

Edit: correction... based on krayzie's info. below, you will need the Xbox to be connected to the network before SC will update your dash.

You'll thereafter be able to confirm that via the System Info. and will be all set to do the other installs eh.

Exactly why does he need the 4920 dashboard? Also if you don't have a network connection there is no way to upgrade with splinter cell.

@krayzie: SKAIK the memcard install tools etc. don't fully facilitate non-live enabled dash's (they could, but it'd be so rarely needed it's not really worthwhile)!

I believe SC runs dashupdate.xbe for non-live enabled dash's (such as tbone6's) and by not having the network cable plugged it will then become owners choice whether they want to connect to live (and be updated to the latest release) afterwards eh.  wink.gif

ahh okay didn't know that bout the ltools stuff. But you cannot upgrade without a network connection in splinter cell. If you want the 4920 dash you need to have a network connection to get the download levels butto working. If you do not want the latest dash or have a live conection just do not share your internet conection or turn your xbox off right after the first upgrade.
