I would be very glad to help in any way I could.  As I said, my actual writing is Subpar, and would take me an eternity.  However, I could definitley help with scripting if you need it, as well as layout and graphic design.

Yeah I'll have to make a layout of how I'm gonna do this first...

I know what I wanna do but its tough to make it actually work.

Edit: Fyi, your avatar host sucks! Need a better one?

Rargh.  My domain went down last week, strapped for cash at the moment.  Renewing it tuesday, should be fine.  10 gigs of bandwith a month, gig of space, all from a webhost that forgot it's hosting me.  Haven't paid hosting in two years :/

Hey all.  Just wanted to give you a status report of whats going on.

Defying common logic, me and RiceCake have actually made a lot of progress on the site.  I'm finishing the engine at the moment, and Rice is pondering over content and layout.  No idea whatsoever when we'll be done, but a lot of progress has been made thus far, and I'd reckon that trend would continue for a while to come.

Sounds good Sarge!  I suck at that coding, but I'll try to help with the tuts.  I have one done already biggrin.gif  And the hosting, cause I have unlimited space and bandwidth (even though that's impossible, that's just what they say)

Anyhow, as for webspace it'll need to be able to handle PHP and have a MySQL database or two.

I think thats all the real requirements for this.

That will be good... so like basically, you'll pick your system info and what you want to do and everything, and it will guide you to the right tut?  Sounds great to me!

And yeah if the image is too big the forum goes stupid.

But the goal I was looking for is instead of pointing you to one 'final' tutorial is to have alot of little tutorials and then bring them together in the end.

Should make it hella-easy to update.

That's what we're going after.  And if anyone wants to host us, we need at least 30 megs of space, and one MySQL database.  Otherwise, almost all the space of the site is in the database itself.  I mangaged to squeeze down the source into 43 lines at the moment, and it works fine.  As soon as we get some hosting, I'll post some screenshots of what it's like.

Right now, however, I'm working on an admin interface.

I'm glad to see that there is actually interest in this project.

Hearing "Admin Interface" and "43 Lines" has just passed what I ever expected you to do SargeZT - it sounds like its gonna kick some real ass!

Do you think it would be possible to make a few accounts for the admin interface your working on too? Just incase I get some people to help keep it up I don't want to give them complete access or the FTP password and end up "losing" data.

Other than that I know the guys at http://www.fileblitz.com and might be able to sneak an account. I also know the guy who runs http://www.negative0.net but his servers can be tricky at times (Edit: Like the fact that its down right now). I have another host that I've been doing work on, should be able to get all I need from them if I really have to also.

If anyone else knows a real bad-ass host I could get an account from PM me or something.
