ok i think im all set now, one final question tho...do I need a specific save from MA, or can I just use any save that is for the game mechassault?

And once I use the game MA once to complete the hack, do i ever need it again or can i get rid of it, like if i wanted to just rent the game, do the hack, return game.

thanx, everyone has been sucha big help to me here at xbox-scene

you need the save hack for mechassault, it's a special save that exploits the game...

i'd recommend you keep mechassault in case anything screws up later down the line. it's a good failsafe if things go wrong.

scrupul0us,

You are aware that K:5713 is not a version 1.6 xbox correct? I would hope so, especially when you are attempting to write a tutorial that involves that kind of knowledge. Also it's funny how the people that actually made this happen aren't mentioned in your credits section. No biggie though, we still appreciate your efforts into helping people with the install.

confusing signature:

V 1.6 | UDE2 | 5713 | EvoX

Habibi sign one of the PBL variants (I recommend FBL - and that comes already signed) and have them load a BIOS that way you won't have to worry about any other signing.

PBL - Phoenix BIOS Loader, it loads a new BIOS from your exploit so you can run unsigned code... FBL is just a variant of it with more features... Check the "BIOS Loaders Compared" link in my sig for more info.

edit: err oops seemed the link went straight to FBL ;P fixed now

is this a special case for this kernel only? if so I'd like to add a comment to the tutorial

You may tell people to get this dash from MS, if they have internet access. MS would be eager to update it for you.  Just make sure to backup existing ones before doing the update, say through game save.

no I thought the patch would work on a 4920, 5659 and a 5960 dashboard update.xbe so there is no need to a 5960 dashboard at all.

sure, if they already have the known update.xbe. Just in case they don't, getting it from MS is a bit easier than finding slayer.

Slayers is real easy to find... just go searching @ a usual place

usual place such as ? Haven't you seen that you are a bit reluctant to say it comparing with my saying 'get it from live' which the dashboard already provides all the function you need  wink.gif

If you've been here long enough and read enough you'd know what "A Usual Place" means

What about first time visitors ? BTW, I don't find it in "THE usual place" where I can find ldots' stuff but I need to google to find that there is another usual place on IRC for slayer.

That makes absolutely no sense.

what in particular ? You mean I can find slayer image at the usual place ? I would like to know approximately under which directory tree then, at least a partial hint.
