What I really hope will happen (although it's doubtful) is that the PAL NHL Fever 2003 update.xbe has the XBE_REGION_US_CANADA flag too - that would be nice for newbs that could get confused over NTSC/PAL issues...

That is a bit of problem to me. I bought an used Xbox which is hardware modded so I cannot go live even I want to. I need to buy a brand new Xbox, some new games and subscribe to live in order to look for pontential update.xbe.

The only game I have is MechAssault(and there isn't such exploitable update.xbe) as I only use Xbox as a Freevo device :-(. Haven't even played it, just as a way to get into Xbox.

Step 2 of this tut is the problem for me -- I have a K:5713 D:5659 box, V1.4 if I'm not mistaken, and I have yet to find any gamesave hacks that work.  I could be messing up some critical step, but I've read a lot, and asked around, and it seems to just be that my system software is too new.  UDE2 was to be my shining hope, but I don't know how to get it.  Not to sound like *too* much of a helpless newb, but what do I do?

Got UDE work for me. Thanks a lot.

For those who are confused, please try to understand the basic steps and select the correct files.
* read and understand the steps of UDE installation.
* version of your kernel and dashboard. select the font files.
* size of update.xbe. select the patch executable.
* prepare recovery in case things go wrong.

Splinter Cell Exploit works on all kernals. If it can work on my K:5838 it can work on yours. If you need anymore help give me a PM.

Bloody bloody bloody bloody.  I just bought MA yesterday to try the hack.  I'll have to go grab a copy of SC -- seems like a bit of a waste, since I already own the PC version.

I'm speaking 4 newbs around the world on this one...


So its now possible 2 soft mod any Xbox with UDE2?

Will there be a all in one package with all the needed files like the first UDE?

Why isnt this a headline on Xbox-Scene Main page?

Ive modded 10 Xboxs with the original UDE but I cant make sence of what UDE2 is about due 2 all this talk about Pal compatability??

UDE2 allows all the capablities of the original UDE on all boxes - even 5713+
Pal 5713+ users will not be able to use the current setup yet because a PAL update.xbe has not been found yet - someone just needs to pull one off of NFL Feven 2003 I believe it is.

And yes, I'm sure a package will be made available in due time.

A clarification, ALL game hacks work on ALL kernels so long you got the non-fixed DVD retail.

exactly that's what I thought and why I asked. Ahh well we'll just have to wait then for our own update.xbe.

Games like Mechassault are flagged for both regions so they can still be used as another way in if something stuffs up. Though it wont be easy (or that safe) to go back to a clean state to play on live for games that arent flagged this way.

Due to the limited update of XBOX in Japan, less games would be available, and there's probably less XBOX!Live users also.  NFL 7 Fever in particular doesn't sounds like an obvious candidate to localize to your market.  I fear that Japanese owners may need to do the EEPROM trick - but source a US copy of an exploited game first!
