Can anyone help me? I believe I have all the tools to do this. My xbox is using the 5838 kernal. I got the spatcher, and the frosted boot loader with the evox m8 bios.
My question is this.
Basically i take the update.xbe from my xbox,
determine the correct s.exe to run on it use the modified .xbe to replace my xboxdash.xbe,
install the update7 fonts,
install the boot loader into the e:\default.xbe,
rename the m8_16.bin to xboxrom.bin.
reboot.

Is this everything or am I completely wrong or missing a step.

Any help would be grateful, I've read thru all the posts, and this is the best i could gather.

do you have a BFM M8???
if not you have to use nkpatcher

There is no M8 BFM bios as far as I know yet.  I've asked in the bios forums but gotten no reply yet so I assume no.

The Evox M8 BFM exists.....

Unsure, if it's not in the 'usual places' then probably not.

Not unless you can get a hold of the Evox M8. The evox m8 is the only bfm bios that supports V1.6.

If you can't find the bios, use nkpatcher.

my next question then, is how do I know if i've found the BFM M8 bios?

This is only speculation. However, my guess is that the file would be named accordingly.

So using nkpatcher, would this be the way i should do it.

Take my update.xbe from the v1.6 xbox,
modify it using the correct s********.exe,
take the modified xbe, rename it to c:\xboxdash.xbe
sign the nkpatcher.xbe using xbedump -habibi
rename it to c:\default.xbe
install the update7 fonts c:\fonts
install my dashboard int e:\mydash.xbe

is this correct?
