Cannot Get X To Boot
« on: October 25, 2004, 12:19:00 PM »

I have been working with a chameleon chip and two xbox's for over two months now.  Since that time, I have swaped out the chip and sodderless adapter twice and have been having the same issue. It seems that either something I did or the original chip & sodderless adapter fried both my Gen 1 mobo's!

X power cycles with chip or without. Power cycle consists of:

- Power on
- Immedate power off
- Power on
- Immedate power off
- Power on - Stays on with blinking red and green eject button

I checked the toturials and found that the red and green flashing (at the end of cycle) means bad image or bad flash on chip.

Can a volatage regulator help here, maybe some magical Nvram clear on the board that I didn't know existed?  Honestly I'll try anything! I can't even go buy a new X because local stores have sold out and are holding inventory for the hoildays.  :(

Any ideas?  Thanks for your help,
-Ed

Dude unless you have something shorted on the lpc then I think you fried the on board bios.  This is ok as long as the chameleon starts workin.  I just can only thing that you might have put the d0 hook in the wrong hole.  Also if you remove the chameleon and leave the solderless adapter on the xbox it will FRAG on you.

Just double check the solderless adapter also see if the wire from the hook did not touch another pin or something.

I will check the D0 position again and also pull the adapter and verifiy if it boots normally.
