I was just suggesting that PBL Metoo is renamed to PBL2, so that everything based around it could have a 2 added onto it eg PBL2 Lite, FBL2. Therefore everything with a "2" in it works on newer kernels. That all have the same basic functionality based around the PBL2/Metoo core.

It seems to make sense. Since Tomilius has said that it shouldn't be called Phoenix Bios Loader anymore (since it's not by the Phoenix group) I was suggesting it renaming it "PBL Bios Loader" (in the tradition of recursive acronyms such as GNU, WINE, PHP etc

Meh.

go back in your cave, none is going to rename their BLs to "2" for any reason except for  updates (heck i hope they skip right to three, just because of this)

droping pheonix makes sence but, some people may want to keep it an homage to team pheonix

That is a 1.4, to my knowledge K:5101 & K:5713 are 1.4s and the rare K:5530 is classified as a 1.5.

I have a 5530 and its a 1.4 focus.
at least thats what XBOX version Detector  said it was. lol

too late tonight, but I will try this new PBL out tomorrow, allthough I'm quite happy with NKPatcher.

Isn't the m8 bios encrypted just like the x2 4983 bios?

Question is how do you link it to run, say, EvoX dash so that I can select what I want it to run?

So in summary how can I get metoo, to run what I want it to run rather than whats in the DVD drive?

I think all BIOSes boot d:\default.xbe before they boot anything else.  To fix this, you have to hex edit the bios, search for default.xbe and rename it to something like restore.xbe (same number of letters).

Then it will check first for restore.xbe THEN go on looking for evoxdash.xbe in c:

edit: Whoops, nm, you got it.

Any chance that Mentoo will be included in a new version of Ldots UDE Installer, or similar. I think i'd rather use bios loading rather than Nkpatcher on my 5530 box.
I had a look at the package, but couldn't figure out where to get the RC4 key, nor my EEprom key.

...Go to the 'usual' places and d/l the signed version of PBL 1.3.

Take out the relevent numbers from the signed versionconfig file and copy them over to the 'blank' one smile.gif

Forgive me if this is one of my rare (yeah right) noob questions...
OK, so UDE only works with kernels 5530 and below, correct? Which means this would have to be launched from a gamesave exploit, which means when the BIOS was loaded it would (likely) check the DVD tray first and there's no way to eject it without a reset so it would just cause a reboot back into the game? Hmm.
