did u delete anything off your xbox by anychance? I cant find a reasonable solution why a xbox would just messup..unless your dvddrive went wacko..or did u have any other exploits on your hdd b4 using UDE? because UDE doesnt break xboxs..it mods them..and your version is 4034? well i thought using UDE..u had to use 4920? and x2 bios.which changes all that..i could be wrong but then again..it seems like u not telling us alot about what really HAPPEN hmm

maybe somehow the default.xbe got corrupt, boot with xboxhdm and copy the default.xbe.

and why didnt PBL work on a 4034 K.D..worked perfectly on my original 4030 K..1.4 PBL..what version of UDE..did u have expliots prevously installed..something must have corupt the xbe..if u use UDE memcard installer..u dont really have a reason to mess with c:\ thats vital...sounds like your xbox might have another problem..explain more

maybe your clock frozeup..i modded a xbox that hung on the pbl for a couple trys..but then started working fine..make sure the clock is set

dorn..i dont see why your pbl doesnt work..u try 1.3? or PBL lite..which Ldots made..for people having trouble running 1.4 ...check it out

Ack!! It started it again! It makes no sense... I had uninstalled the UDE and it was booting to the MS Dash and everything.... then when I tried just now it gave me the error again. Brian - What do you mean, going out? How would I find out if that's it? Does that mean I would have to run everything from the hard drive?

Edit - And if it was the DVD drive that was broke... would it still give me that error when nothings in the drive?? Why wouldn't it just boot to the dash... there's nothing for it to read.

i know what the problem is but its not pretty
as far as i can see there are 2 different things that could be wrong
one is that your ide cable is crap and stoped working
the second is that your dvd rom drive is dead or very close to dieing

the reason u get error 12 is because the xbox can't detect the dvd drive

if it does turn out that the drive is dead well then theres not much u can do
if your xbox still has a warenty and has not been opened u might be able to ftp in and destroy all traces of the mods and bring the xbox in
if not well i might sugest getting a mod chip
one that can ignore the fact that the dvd drive is dead

sorry to hear about your problems

but sounds like you got a dead dvd drive

P.S this problem has nothing to do with the exploits
its pure hardware

im still going to sugest checking the ide cable
u never know
maybe its loose
if the xbox is as old as it sounds then u shouldn't have to worry about a warranty

and if all else fails get a mod chip

i read a post awhile back about using a regular dvd drive in the xbox..search
