lol! It's a BETA! it's for testing purposes! The 'waits' were added on purpose.

Thanks for testing it out. In a final version, there will be no difference in the time taken to load, don't worry. For now you can use 1.2 if you'd like, or 1.2.2. I'm not going to take the 'waits' out until enough people have tried it and returned how it worked for them...

Did you say it would keep hanging until you tried ejecting it once on a hang? Then it was solved forever?

Very peculiar, but familiar.

I wasn't complaining, and by all means, keep the delays in until you get more feedback.   Good job, Tomilius

Edit:
Pay no attention to my whining; I get paid to keep the network running, despite the gratuitous user-error, lol

That's ok. Just wanted to make sure you knew that it wasn't a result of the "screen corruption fix" that caused the slowness... Sorry that you've had to deal with Windows at work. lol

Great work Tomilius, I been using this on my buddies xbox, who has one of the cords that go from the xbox into a splitter of some sort for more a/v cables to be plugged in. and pbl all the way up to 1.4.1 looked just rediculus on his nice ass TV, so i been playing around with these and on the last release i got the fastest load yet, with the gray ugly screen corruption (but still better the flickering siezure I was having before), I'll try this tomorrow and let u know how it works on his box and I'll see exactly what kind of cords he is working with too.

BETA 3

*yawn* A quick release. Taking the place of "BETA 2," this is a test release of v1.3. I would describe the parameters but:
1. I'm too tired.
2. If it doesn't work without specification then it has failed its main purpose anyway.

But... I'll describe them briefly.
If this doesn't work for you, try messing with some of the following parameters:
NoOutput:
-1 : Automatic Detection of screen corruption clearing method
0  : standard a/v method (fb_clear)
1  : video output prevention method (IoOutputByte)
2  : prevent VGA functions and use video output prevention method
3  : prevent VGA functions and prevent video output from start of PBL

So... tired.

Beta 2 has been moved to its own folder of course. This "beta 3" has none of the waits and is uh better in many ways... try it... *yawn again*

http://members.lycos.../files/pbl/beta

Download default.xbe, boot.cfg

im going to try now....

thanks

Edit : Remember that your bios rom must be in the root of the PBL directory with version 1.3. Not in the Bioses directory. Thanx for reminding me violent_bong smile.gif I might change that in the future...

CODE
Moved to PBL-Lite thread

Edit : Moved the code (updated) to the Pbl-Lite thread

I will test this on my advanced AV kit which never worked with PBL 1.4.1 and let you know if it works or not...
EDIT: Ldots, is this habbi signed or do I have to sign it myself?

your pbl worked with my av and hdtv pack...never tested the normal 3 wire one..

so are u saying u did NOT get any scrambled video using ur S-Video hookup. if so way to go ldots. and i wonder if ldots version would work with Chicken Scratch Boy's wireless controller. hmm i guess the S-video thing working would be right since it is PBL 1.3 and 1.3 has always worked with S-video. BUT if it is 1.3 then we still dont have Focus support for the newer boxes. hmm... but keep up the great work guys. im sure u guys will get it.  smile.gif

It should work with any controller. There is no USB stuff being started.
Also the idea here was not to support Focus or s-video or anything for that matter  - just to have a black screen with no info while PBL loads. That should work for any video chip and AV interface. So I have no screen flicker with a Focus chip while PBL loads, even though PBL 1.3 did not support Focus. Kind of like nkpatcher. I was just unsure whether this worked with s-video. It should since you just have a black screen, but you never know  uhh.gif

well that is awesome if u got s-video and focus support with pbl (even if u didnt mean too). that will be awesome. and we should have no problems with usb devices either. hope more people with focus and an s-video cable can test and then you can get it posted in the usual places for easier access. great job.  biggrin.gif
