I think you guys are confused a little bit on what you need to do next.

If you have xboxhdm v1.9 and UDE v1.4 and burn the linux bootdisk with these tools on it you dont need any of the exploit games or gamesaves.  With that disc you can hotswap your drive (it took me awhile to get it to work, but it does) and then boot the xboxhd and you can install ude package.  WHen this is installed you have softmodded your box. The rest is just changing to the dash you want or whatever.  AFter you have hotswapped and loaded ude via xboxhdm and you boot  your xbox up with the softmod for the first time to ltools. Make sure the first thing you do is run the backup option in ltools. After that reboot xbox back to ltools and ftp into your box and retrieve your eeprom file. save your eeprom in a safe place and you should always be able to restore your xbox if u mess up.

Not really... I don't want to hotswap ANYTHING because I wish to avoid opening up my xbox at all. If it got to the point where I had to open the case i'd just get a chip installed.

i think this package killed my xbox.

I tried to unistall the UDE (from this package) i had first installed (using this package), so i could install a different one, from the same package.

anyway, after my uninstall, it said i could turn off my xbox, it booted up with the MSDashboard again... (which i expected), but when i put in splinter cell, to get back to itools, i keep getting an error, saying i have to have my dvd adapter to run this disc.. ?!?!?!?! so, now i'm stuck with an xbox that will only run ms dashboard.

any suggestions!??!

Hi, I got all of the ltools 1.75 files for mechassault on my v1.0 xbox, and got into the ltools menus.  However, when I go to install the UDE (I'm trying to install UDE1), the display shuts off, the CD LED turns orange, and after maybe 5 seconds, the fan in the xbox kicks in to what sounds like 100% for about 2 seconds, and then the whole box shuts off.

Same thing happens if I run mini-Linux.

Any ideas?  thanks all.

I installed the package (via FTP over the previous UDE_1.4) using the "007 game" version.

It went fine, apart from this detail:
The menu of the Linux tool did not include "Boxplorer", which was however installed by the package.
I added it to menu.xml (it was already in in mxm.xml) and I also included it into my evox.ini, so that BoxPlorer is now available from my two Dashboards.
Problem is that if I run BoxPlorer from Linux Tools menu (booting the backdoor) I can't go back to it (I get Error 21).
It works fine if I run it from Evox (it gets back to it) or even if I boot Evox, then move to Linux Tools and from there I lunch BoxPlorer: it then goes back ... not to Linux (as I was expecting) but to Evox.

Any hints?

that is because when booting from the linux toolbox there is no bios loader active, so only habbibi signed applications, (in this case, boxplorer) are available via ltools. so when exiting boxplorer it tries to load evox, which is not habbibi signed. it works when loading it from evox because at this point a bios loader is active.

no, this is pointless as launching anything from evox would then have to be habbibi signed, so you may as well just reboot into a hacked bios/kernel patched environment

Can I use XBL with this gamesave? I tested it out, but is there a way to use XBL without being banned or having to uninstall everytime?

How do you FTP (with this gamesave)? I chose MXM as a dashboard and I have been messing around with my computer for the last 2 hours and I can't get it to find the Xbox. I have WS-FTP Pro also to let you know, but I will connect anyway possible to allow me to move files from my computer to the Xbox...

can someboby help me plz i softmodded using itools v1.8 i have a v1 xbox with k5838 d5960.ok hers what i did i used mechassault  gamesave to softmod it loaded fine i think but i couldnt figure out how to ftp so like a dummy i went to reinstall uxe but forgot to delete the the autosave that mechassault makes when u select campaign to load run linux now my xbox wont boot past the xbox/MS screen.im thinking thats what i did wrong can someone tell me if this is fixable im a newb at this so bear with me theres alot i dont know but dont cast me aside i learn farely quik i just make the simplest mistakes sometimes so help me somebody plz i cant seem to find a topic on this anywhere and im tired of reading all the forums from different sites thx

If I understand you correctly you have the standard Xbox Dash loading OK but the softmod doesn't load.  If this is the case I think you need to copy the mechassault gamesave back onto your box via whatever method you did before and get into Run Unix.  From there FTP in to remove the current C: and replace it with the backup one you had (if you were able to do so) and re-install the hack.  You may need to set your IP settings for the box.  To do this go into settings and change the IP to 192.168.0.3 subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and Gateway to 192.168.2.3  You should then be able to FTP in and do what you need to.
