I got your v1.4 package today and did the same, but I noticed the .zip file w/ update.xbe is now a little over 5Mb. Is this going to be too big for my standard memory card when I get home? If so, is there a way I can trim it down so it will all fit with the update.xbe?
P.S. Does your package include nkpatcher for 5530 that I've been reading so much about? |
I guess if you have a 8Mb memcard it should fit. If you want to trim it down I would suggest not adding the update.xbe, but ftp'ing this in after the package is installed.
I think I might remove Evox and use MXM instead (as this is already used for the ltools menu). That would save 1MB.
In the near future I will also add the nkpatcher, but will wait a bit to see more test results.

Thank you so much ldots for this memcard installer! Anyway, I was curious about the following behavior: when I start the X-Box in the closed tray position with a backed up game in the drive I get Error 21 and FRAG. However, when I start an empty X-Box in the closed position everything boots to EvoX perfectly. Is this by design or just an anomaly in my box? If it is, can I fix it? |
Some people say they have been running backups from DVD on boot with the UDE. I have never done this personaly, but will get error 21 as you describe. The UDE is not active until the update.xbe (renamed) is loaded and the hacked font tricker, so the only way I see that one could boot from a backup is if your clock is not set. This will force the bios to load xboxdash.xbe (update.xbe) which will tricker the hack -> PBL -> hacked bios -> D:\default.xbe
So I believe you should boot up the xbox and let the hacked bios load before you insert the backup.

ok i got slyer 2.5 but its a iso an I can't find the fil. In with folder should it be? |
Slayers is an xiso. Get a tool like qwix which will extract the xiso filesystem.
