Audio Hack, Easter Egg Exploit, or UDE (The last being my personal favorite). You'll definately want to downgrade your dash as it's useful to have Live 1.0 for other exploits.

actually the easter egg only works on the 5960 dash and can be usefull if you use live. I personaly use the ude combined with the easter egg so i can switch back and forth

That's why I mentioned the easter-egg exploit. I mentioned downgrading for the audio exploit and incase he wanted to use some of the files for the UDE. smile.gif

Well, actually, it's rare to find any files other than the Slayer's pack that will work with the exploits, namely the update.xbe needed for the UDE.

I would recommend that you use the UDE.  I've tried all the other exploits except the easter egg, and UDE is hands down the best.  Try to grab the package for it from xbins and give it a shot.  Download Slayer's from his IRC channel and grab update.xbe outta there, then you're set.  (I know, seems stupid to download a 150 meg file for one 1.8 meg file, but that's how it is).

Enjoy the UDE!

UDE is definately the way to go... pretty easy to install (at least I didn't have any problems) but if you are looking to play on live as well you'll need to use another exploit in addition to UDE to swap between both (as it has already been mentioned), either that or get another box for live

What the hell is wrong with me?!?!

I forgot the most important stuff... The Benefits

Boot straight into EvoX(or dash of choice)... Without the risk of clock loop!!
and no ROE(reset on eject)!!

UDE works on the latest 5960 dash as well.

Strange that my package from the usual place contained the right update.xbe. maybe they removed it afterwards. Also strange how they don't spread M$ copyrighted material since they spread lots of other "illegal" stuff

Uhhh I might have made a mistake. Seemed I left the ude package alone and used the one i extracted from the first page and used my own update.xbe. Sorry for that. But I would like to mention though that my double dash package contained the dashboard xbe from the old dash. Now isn't that copyrighted?

*edit* just extracted my package from you know where and it did contain the update.xbe along with a hexed msdash. I do'n really understand though why this should be a problem though whith all the other xdk built stuff around.

the package came with everything you would ever need for the exploit, including xboxdash.xbe (update.xbe renamed), xbøxdash.xbe (official MS dash 4920) and bert_ate_ernie.xtf as well as PBL.

Trust me, I remember because I was annoyed at how I had taken all the steps to hex edit my original xboxdash.xbe and put the fonts and stuffs and then I found that the package already had the stuff anyway.

I deleted my old hex edited dash and update and replaced it with the one in the package. I know it was in there, maybe they took it out

use the UDE along with THC lite for your dashboard, it functions just like the M$ dash (as far as memory, playing your soundtracks in the dash and in games, playing DVD movies, plus it loads your backups ), but you can also access your apps on the hard drive, plus it loads your backups

A little redundant, eh? beerchug.gif
