Yes, put it in the root of the CD (i.e copy it over as xboxhdm/linux/UDE)

The UDE installer is both available as a memcard installer and as an installer that works from xboxhdm on your PC.

If you are gonna use the memcard installer (ltools) you dont need to add the UDE package to xboxhdm.
I made the xboxhdm based UDE installer for people without memcards or any of the exploitable games.

Although I'm not LDots by any means, all common sense would point to 'Yes', PetRock.

I have the v1.3 ude package.... I wonder which version of the ude it is using..

I also noted that there are two bert-ate-ernie files in the package, bae1 and bae2  .... what is the difference between those two versions ?

ok... but which ude version is this... and which one is for which version of the update.xbe .... want to know since I want to use these file without the installer

you should use the orginal package rather than ldots one. There is detail instruction there covering all variation of kernel and update.xbe and where to put those files. You can even recompile them from source to suit your needs.

Just go to the pinned topics.

I know... but when I used v7 UDE from the thread the box just frooze at the MS logo.... so I just want to know... can't someone just answer the question instead of keep pointing me to other locations... and I also wants to know if those will work with all Kernels below 5713

that package contains both font6 and font7. No one at this moment can give you 100% sure answer of which works on which.

On my machine (K5101, 228-update.xbe), font6 doesn't work if I set the language to non-English. font7 works beautifully.

I tried to help and sounds like you don't want it  huh.gif

thanks for the help... but I have asked these questions earlier... and there is always someone that points me to other directions....

that is because different people do it different way.

May be others can give you a more straight forward tutorial of definitive answer.

but I don't think that these are the font7 .... cause font7 are just 88 bytes big.... can they be font4 ... which are 504 bytes ...... btw... if I use the generic file with kernels that have their own fonts will it still work

yes, bae1 and bae2 are font6(or may be earlier). What is your update.xbe ? That is the key factor, not the dash.

The reason why I suggest you to use the font package in the thread is that it is the latest, font6 and font7 that contains everything. ldots update his stuff quiet frequently and I don't know what his 1.3 contains.

For most situation, generic font works, you just need one that matches your update.xbe

V1.3 uses the generic updatefonts6.
But these are no different from the official fonts (except the boot path), so why would you want to extract them from the installer. Why not just use the installer?

Anyway, V1.4 will be ready soon with updatefont7 and PBL-Metoo and UDE2.

it's the 1 974 272 bytes file.... but the font7 didn't work... the box just frooze at he MS logo

use font60 then. I didn't follow your whole thread so don't know what kernel you have.
