Well, it seems nobody replies to anyone asking for help her,e but here goes.

I managed to get the UDe 1.4 package and also xboxdhm 1.9. I did what the guide said, ran UDE -UDE1 (I have a 4817 kernel so UDE1 is recommended for me right?), it went according to plan, it backed up the drive and everything and finally finished. The problem I encountered was after I boot my Xbox. It seems like it didn't install the update.xbe at all! It boots straight to dash as it did b4 I ran the UDE package on it.

I used xbrowser and didn't see any bert or ernie fonts in the fonts dir. Everything seems to be stock, although it did put itools and the rest of the files it's supposed to install on the drive.

I tried using th uninstall feature but it won't because it can't find the original xboxdash.xbe file. I didn't put any update.xbe file in the UDE/files directory, so it used the one in C:/xodash on the Xbox drive, but it didn't seem to work. I'm using dashboard version 5960.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem?

This thread is very interesting if you have got time to spare to read it all.

If not, try http://www.chrisfoley.ca/?p=31#more-31 for a clear summary of the process. It worked fine for the two xboxes that I have softmodded.

It may be interesting, but there was no reason to bring it back.  UDE is old and obsolete.
