Either clear the E:\Evox folder and put your preferred dash in there, or put your preferred dash where you want and edit the included bios with xbtool to point to this dash.

In the next release of the package I will use a more generic E:\Dashboard folder for the default dash, and let the user choose between more dashes.

UDE1/UDE2 Package For Xboxhdm
« Reply #19 on: July 08, 2004, 11:36:00 AM »

CODE
This package will :
1) Install the update.xbe font hack (Bert-ate-Ernie).
2) Phoenix Bios Loader v 1.4.1   or
   PBL-Lite                      or
   nkpatcher.
   Only bios included is the 4981.67_ef bios. Include
   more bioses (E:\BiosLD) if you need.
3) Evox v. 3935.    or
   MXM              or
   UnleashX

   Ip              = 192.168.0.3
   Subnetmask      = 255.255.255.0
   Defaultgateway  = 192.168.0.1
4) Install a font patched copy of the MS dashboard
   in C:\ called msdash.xbe to be run from Evox when using
   the font hack.
5) Make a compressed image of C: that can be used
   for restoring for C: later.
6) Make a backup of your eeprom and hdd pass to
   E:\backup_linux if the eeprom.bin is included on your xboxhdm CD
7) Make a game save with eeprom.bin and hdd pass to be copied
   to your PC from the MS Dash memory menu, if the eeprom.bin is
   included on your xboxhdm CD

On installation a game save directory is added on your
xbox containing tools to configure and reinstall the
package. These tools are the same as installed with
the Memcard UDE installer also available from xbins.
If fact they serve as a game save hack when used with
an exploitable version of Mech Assault.

If you have installed MXM as your dashboard you can reach
the ltools menu directly from MXM's main menu. An alternative
way of reaching this menu is booting your xbox with the eject
button. This should bring you directly to the ltools menu.

If you uninstall the UDE hack from the ltools menu you either
have to have the Mech Assault game to reenable the hack,
or reinstall UDE using the xboxhdm CD.

So once the package is installed you can reach an "ltools menu" just like in the Memcard installer by booting the xbox with the eject button to configure PBL/restore C/backup/uninstall UDE/view HDD password.

It requires the latest version of xboxhdm (V. 1.6)

You need to attach your HDD to the PC and use xboxhdm to install the new package anyway, so I would just prepare the xboxhdm CD, boot, and run UDE -uninstall before running UDE -install

The Bios loader/pathcer is your choice. I would choose PBL-Lite or nkpatcher. If you like IGR or have a 137+GB HDD go with PBL-Lite.

smile.gif ???
You can use this package if you have kernel 5530 or below.
Dashversion doesn't matter, but your need the 4920 update.xbe and put in the UDE folder before burning the xboxhdm CD.

UDE package v.1.3 Released

This is only a maintenance update. No new functionality. Only thing is that the UDE package installer has been completely separated from xboxhdm allowing me to update both independantly of each other.

Only reason to get v1.3 is if you also update xboxhdm to v.1.7 or above.

ldots, when you say this, can we still add the UDE directory to xboxhdm and install it with "UDE" in linux?

Yes. Everything works as usual for the user. These changes just makes it easier for me to make updates.
If you update xboxhdm to 1.7 you need UDE package v.1.3
