I just bought one of the new Crystal Edition xbox systems and softmodded it using XBOXHDM & UDE package.  I made sure to install the UDE2 which has support for the newer xbox's.  Everything went well and I rebooted my xbox.  But when the evox screen pops up, the video output is scrambled.  I can make out that it is EVOX but it is like im watching unpaid channels on cable tv.

As news from  http://xbox-linux.org I found

"Beware special edition 'Crystal' Xboxes It is rumoured that the new white special edition Crystal xboxes due for release soon in Europe and elsewhere have a different video encoder chip (Again!). If this is true, Linux video output will be unusable. We advise against purchasing it for use with Linux for the time being, until we are able to check it out, and make the necessary changes to accommodate it. "

Anyone have any suggestions on what I could try?

HELP!!!: i have been trying to get this to work for the past week and a half but i just cant figure it out. my original xbox hard drive seems to be permanently locked but i dont really care too much about that. i have an extra hard drive and i used the "Create new HD from scratch" on the linux cd. after that was done i did the UDE -UDE2 command and went through all of that. i have tried all of these steps with and without locking the HD afterwards and still, the HD will not work in my XBOX. i would really appreciate it if someone who has succeeded in this could help me out here. I AM GOING INSANE. thank you...

i cannot locate this file... the UDE_v1.4.zip can someone point me in the right direction?  i didnt see it on the 'usual place' i get my stuff from... bins....

same i canot find shit on this udepackage v1.4 i have ude2 can i use this to mod new and older xbox's or do i need to use just ude1

Okay.  During the softmod process, I get to this step: Pic Here (Right after I agree that I am using an NTSC region 1 box).

The next step never loads.  I just get an "All done".  I never get the chance to choose nkpatcher or PBL.  I know nothing about linux commands so I don't know if there is something I can type at the prompt to start the PBL process.  This is using xboxhdm 1.9 and UDE 1.4 (ude is inside the linux folder on the cd I made).  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

I got mirc and connected to #xbins with an ftp client and spent a while going through everything, BUT I COULD NOT find the stupid ude_v1.4.zip i need!!!!!!!!!

So its not in the usual place??

I am having problems with xboxhdm w/ UDE i have followed the tutorial from http://www.stonespnl...ge&pid=1&page=1  but xboxhdm cannot see the xbox hd. I have unlocked the hd many times with windows but for some reason i cant with xboxhdm.  any suggestions/

Im extremely new to modding my xbox. Im trying to use this method. My friend has Evo-X with EXECUTER 2 (but his system wa flashed, there was no mod chip installed). Im trying to do this without soldering or anything (if even possible). All the tutrials are helpful, but Im still not getting what to do.

Could anybody help me out a bit?
