Have you try to load just the xboxdash with a 160 hd in a no mod xbox ?
It doesn't let you because the ms original bios don't have support for hd bigger then 80 or 100, I have tryed with 80 and below and all work fine, but when tryed with 120 gb and 160 all i get is one of the HD error message.

I don't think that the original bios support HD bigger then 100 or 80 gb. dry.gif

Don' t think the original bios lets you go over 137GB, but I thought that once the hacked bios is loaded into the kernal then you can have a larger harddrive.  :unsure:

The original bios won't even lets you go over 8 gigs. But that won't take away the fact that you can still use a bigger hd. You would need a hacked bios with lba support to free all the space though. The failing of the bootup probably has to do with something else. What's the error number?

I did a 120 last night with the mech fonts and everything works fine.  Still have 85 gig free that I don't know what I'm going to do with, but it's there.  I haven't played much with config magic but I used unlockX and the HD key generated for me from Idot's linux HD installer package thingy-ma-bob.

What kind of HD doesn't matter as long as it's LOCKABLE...  You can go as big as you like as long as the BFM bios you are using supports it.

Most if not all the info you need is in the tutorials...

You guys are really newbis on this and i don't think that ya know a lot about xbox hacking.

The original bios suppor 80 gb but it look like some xbox original bios can support more than 80.

Don’t be stup. How can you load hack bios before the original bios if you depend on the dashboard to load it

Orinal Bios => dashboard=> Phoenix bios=> dashboard, ava, evox, any

only with a modchip
Hackbios =>dashboard=>, ava, evox, any

dry.gif Get it what you are saying it doesn't make any sense. If it does, I don't really know how can you load a hack bios from the beginning without a modchip and without getting into the error screen.
Unless you have found the way to upgrade the xbox original’s bios with a hack bios.
Have you ?

The original bios won't support 80 gigs. It might support a hd that is 80 gig hd but it won't release anymore capacity (about 8 gig) than the bios lets you so you have to use another (bfm) bios to free all of the rest of the space.  Anyway like I said you can use any hd as long as it's lockabe. I dunno where you get your 80 gigs border from but you are the allknowing master so I wouldn't have to say this to you.

Bigbox: Do you come in here asking how to take advantage of a greater hdd and claim others don't know much about xbox-hacking??? Anyways I'm not FULLY sure whether you need to do anything in specific to pass the 8GB limit. I reckon you don't have to do anything UNTILL you reach 137GB which is the limit for LBA24(or 28). There I know you have to have a hacked bios supporting LBA48, which makes it possible to use a hdd at any size (to 2 TerraByte I reckon, could be more, but who cares).

Krayzie means that you SWITCH the orig. bios to a hacked one. Don't mock people because of your own lack of knowledge.
