I Think I Found Out What The Latest Update Did...
« on: May 19, 2004, 06:43:00 PM »

Well 2day i was helping mod someones xbox with the Audio exploit. the person whom i was helping mod had XBL and had d/led the latest update.

He got the C: from SlaYerS backed up his C: and put the C: from SlaYerS on. First I told him to use Mordens and it installed properly. but when he tryed to boot it up...he got the 100 soundtrack error.

could this be what the latest XBL update did?

I tried it with 2 audio exploit packages and did it manualy and always got the 100+ soundtrack errors.

Should I try font?

it updates the dash and plug the buffer overflow error. I believe neither font nor audio hack would work for this dashboard.

may be they fix the st.db on the course of the update. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense as I am assuming you just wipe out whatever is on C: and replace it with a known hackable dash. So there shouldn't be anything left on C: that prevents the hack.

Try to re-copy the st.db to E:

I updated, then installed the DD hack and it works fine, havn't tired audio (because it sucks compared to DD)

EDIT: The update was mostly server side for security reasons
