Hi All Can some one help me i have have 2 xboxs 1 mod chip and iam tring to soft mod
i have pen drive and usb to controller cable and splinter cell game the problem iam having is getting the save files from pen drive to xbox it only gives me one choice delete  
the xbox is 1.0 the pen drive is cruzer mini 128mb can any one out there help me

i'am a noob in the since ive never done a softmod but have a clear undertsaning of ftp and pc and all the things needed ..

my sistutation is that i let someone else do a softmod on my xbox because i did not have (mech , 007 or splinter c ) game to do the mod nor did i have a mem card with the game save , but now my softmod isnt working (daughters BF did something to it) the x works fine plays orginals but it wont boot to the dashboard , ive looked in the x memory and  the mech  game save is there i also have sonething else called itools or ltools ?

anyhow someone said i can just get the org mech game and redo my softmod ?

questions

1.  if the game save is already there do i still have to do the memory card thing ?
i dont think i do i just want to make sure .
2. (this is  for a future mod ) if i get a mem card can i just transfer the game save to the card via my xbox and will this defeat the purpose of getting action replay or making my own controller cable ?
3. ive found my way to xbins i was looking for krayzies installer coudlnt find it what other usual places are there (PM me on this) ?

i now have splinter cell orginal and mech orginal
also have auto installer 2.0
no mem card (not yet)
no action replay (not sure i need it)

hi i wounded if anyone could help me my mate brought his xbox around to my house to day after he got his friend to put a modchip in everything work apart from he wasnt able to load ms dash so i decided to install a newer ver of evox did this then the xbox just packed up after installing the software a red light is flashing on the eject button and the msg on the screen says service required call customer support and in diffrent languages

decide at this ponit to have alook in his xbox and found there was no modchip first thing popped into my head was softmod now im stuck and i havent a clue on what to do

would it be worth getting it modded with a proper modchip or does it need something else?

  please help

you cant go into live in a modded state, depending on soft mod you used, network blocking is enabled, safety feature,

try cold-booting, or reverting to stock.

I t is not possible for you to use go on xbox live with a softmodded box.

I think now that you have tried connecting to xbox live with a modded box that you will have been banned from xbox live.

I have heard of some ppl getting away with it, but generally once you mod and try to go into xbox live with ur mod enabled box,  you become permanently banned.]

Dude i dont know if this will work, but at his stage it looks as though ur friends box maybe screwed!

You need to ftp into the box if you can, ithink the default ip is 192.168.0.2
and pass and username are both "xbox". (without quotes)

if you can ftp to the box have a look for a folder named BACKUP on C: or E:
if there is no backup in these locations just search deeper into every folder, if there is a backup folder then put everything that is in the backup folder on to the C: drive.( You may need to rename them or change their extensions)

If that doesnt work then try uploading evox to C: drive and overwriting everything in there.

Like i said man, not sure if that will work, but it's worth a try.

I'm thinking that you may have deleted or overwritten the MS dash, when trying to install evox to it.

Press right on the D-pad (D-pad = direction pad), now you'll have the option to either copy or delete the savegame.

FTP SC1 game sav onto modded XBOX's HDD.  (E:\UDATA\?, etc.)
Plug in USB key
Boot to M$ Dashboard, go to "Memory", let it 'Delete' the USB Key.
Select the XBOX HDD, and locate the FTP'd in SC1 save.  (You need to go down to the SC1 saves section, then across to the actual SC1 save!.)
Copy this to the key.
Power down.

Plug USB key into retail XBOX
Boot retail XBOX
Use M$ Dash to copy SC1 save from USB Key to XBOX HDD.
Boot SC1, load SC1 save from HDD.

If all done right, after a few screen flashes, a 3rd party Dash should appear and you should be able to FTP into the retail XBOX.

well i have the uxe auto installer and i made my own action replay wit my controll so i transfer the save into my xbox and i load the mechassault and and load the installer that i just transfered 2 my xbox and push a on the install install uxe package and i will have a softmod on my xbox right. With this installation it will make a back-up of my eeprom which is the MS Dashboard and a back-up of my UXE package. My MS Dash would be put in E:\Backup\. and my eeprom would be save in E:\Backup_linux\. Am I correct so far. I will ftp this 2 my comp and save both of them on a cd so i can have them in case i mess up right. And If I want 2 go 2 live all i do is not 2 modify any files on E:\Backup\ and E:\Backup\Modded\ and in order 2 get my original dash i do this choose 'Waffle Zone Tools' press 'A' to enter this menu and then select 'Backup Menu' and press 'A' then select  'Restore Unmodded Backup' press 'A', then the script will start copying the needed files after it is done reboot and play the Games I want online right. And If I want 2 go back 2 softmodding I choose 'WaffleTools' then 'Backup Menu' then choose the option 'Restore Modded Backup' this will copy the files needed to revert my box to the UnleashX dash, once complete reboot my Xbox and I should be back to the UnleashX dashboard. IM NEW AT THIS AND DONT WANT 2 MESS UP SO PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS CORRECT I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS 4 SOME WHILE THNX.
