tongue.gif

ill take a look at it. basically my box is off to have the capiciters flipped on there side for my new rackmountable case. so when modding i want to make this a 1 step process. and cuz I'm bored as hell.

next to test is when the disk is last accessed. to try to switch b4 ur menu comes up when ensure good linkage. if its like evox it must register the locations before finish loading.

QUOTE (elliott27 @ Apr 22 2004, 05:05 PM)
I will giv ethat a try.  I have a question though.  How do I know if the st.db fiel is hacked or not.  I have a couple of st.db files floating aorund my XBOX folder on my pc.  These are from Mordens hack.  Can I use one of these as well?

Thanks for the help.

Well ANY file in the folder will work smile.gif as long as its called ST.DB tongue.gif but you wont be able to rip audio etc with the hacked versions so it deafeats the purpose of using the fonts smile.gif

I would just rip a CD, you end up with a nice new ST.DB then FTP it to a safe place for a later date...

QUOTE
well i am setting up a quick install dual Cd-ROM adapter. this isn't practical for others i don't think but for the people who have ruined there box and don't FTP in this could be there fix.

This sounds VERY interesting  laugh.gif  cant wait to hear if it works smile.gif

Also, would you NEED the switch if it DOES work? Could you not do some kind of CDROM "swap"?

Its some cray idea tho  cool.gif  hope you have fun testing it out  wink.gif

cd-rom swap would work meaning that all u needed was the y cable but i like the switch idea to test the ideal time to switch between the cd-roms w/o any effort

this isn't practical in anyway but it will be fun biggrin.gif

damn if only u could eject the tray.

The only other option would be to "split" the instal into 2 gamesaves.

I have an idea where you transfer one gamesave (MA) onto your HD so you can RUN the hack, this would install PBL, Dashboards, Fonts, some light apps.

Then you could transfer ANOTHER gamesave (not related to any 'real' game) which would contain all the apps you could fit into a single zip file, media player etc.

It 'may' be an option for later versions, I dont really like the idea of memory card installs any higer than 8mb, it doesnt make it so everyone can use it...

But then again there are some people who cannot get FTP access either, we must address these as well smile.gif

uhh.gif  the download is only 5mb, it fits on an 8mb memory card easy?

QUOTE
where & what xbe does the hacked st.db in your package point to?

and can this be changed by hex editing?

It points to E:\PBL\P

As for Hex editing, it could de-stableize it so I wouldnt reccomend it? If I remember right the stability of the swappless audio file comes from when Morden and Catfish Hex edited it to work this way? Have a look around im not too sure..

What are you trying to achive by Hex editing?

I dont think they ever made it on xbins sad.gif I never looked but however but people said they couldnt find it...

QUOTE
nah it was this. I just uploaded it to /XBOX/exploits/_Packages/mkjones_packages/

Does this mean its on xbins then smile.gif what about my "Best of Both Worlds"? guess il have a look wink.gif

QUOTE
I guess i wanted the st.db to point to the same folder that the fonts point to, E:\PHOENIX, so i dont have two PBL's on my hard drive.

The new fonts DO point to E:\PBL\P catfish changed them for me wink.gif

QUOTE (heinrich @ Apr 23 2004, 08:57 PM)
I assumed that the 'BOBW' one was just an older version of this one (I know nothing about exploits as you may have guessed tongue.gif), its its in an 'old' folder, if I am wrong, I can move it wink.gif

Well I am having problems connecting to xbins to check but yeh, BOBW is still in use, its a different package of sorts so yeh it should be current I guess smile.gif

Wow, xbins smile.gif I feel warm and fuzzy inside smile.gif It may spur me on to make the PHAT and MEDIUM versions!
