Xbox Hd Rescue/(re)builder Cd. All-in-one Package

Hi!

OK, thanks for youre great help! It was this "little" misanderstanding from me!

No, it is absolutely good to type yes for security. was my fault!

but now i´ve got the next prob. got it to make the hd and locked it with the calculated pw and unlockx said locked after reboot.

back in the box with error 06.

so I read this thread once more and recognized that i also got the error which stated that calculating mismatched.

but i locked the drive with the calculated pw, which must be wrong due tothe faulty eeprom backup from evox.

the question ist how can i unlock the drive again to relock it with the new eeprom backup and hopefully the right pw?

Unlockx states now that the drive is locked. If I enter the given pw (doublechecked it, also with the logfile from unlockx) it says will not unlock.

any hint?

I hope not to go too much on your nerves. Sorry for the trouble.

thanks

Error 6 is the "cannot unlock" error. So you used the wrong password.

You say you have the unlockx log-file, so the password written in here must be the password you locked it with. If unlock doesn't unlock it for you try hdunlock and hddisabl (also included on the CD).

Evox giving wrong eeprom dumps is still very unlikely I think - but it can happen! How did you calculate the password? With xboxhd or with liveinfo? Try using both and confirm you get the same passwd using your new HDD and your eeprom.bin backup.

good ;luck tullm

hey,

could I use a 4.7 gig in my Xbox

I know you are asking why so I will tell you
Sommetimes I get the clock loop...netowrk 2 pc - it loads and is fine...

So, when I havnt got access to the internet which i dont sometimes...I am thinking stick a 4.7 gig hd in when I get clock loop to go into a dash and reset the time before putting my normal hd back in

I woul use a 10 gig one but the 4.7 gig one and 800 meg ones are the only I have spare form old computers

@jason987: thanks! ;-)

@idiots:

OK, used LiveInfo´s password for locking and that was the right one were HDKey still gave me the one from yesterday with evox eeprom.bin and the same message.
So now I can boot my xbox with the new drive. great!

But I booted the box normal without any probs. made the audio exploit running, but pbl didn´t found his boot.cfg.

Loaded teh mordens Savegame for 007 and got into mxm and ftp´ed in. The file for pbl was there.

Then after a wile I found out that something on the hole E partition must be corruptet! files were there, but pbl or something else didn´t found them. Found out that all directories I copied through xbrowser were corruptet, because I can´t delete them through ftp or through boxplorer on the box itself. But I can rename them. so I renamed all of them and ftp´ed in my backup of e from the directory of xboxhdm with one i made the iso and these were working.

Also mxm shows a wrong freespace for e I think.

Any Ideas what that could be?

thanks

Hi again,

now i´ve managed to delete teh folders through unleashX´s filemanager.

mxm shows about 200MB more on all partitions then unleashX. Seems odd, but I think that´s another forum here.

OK - good to hear you have it working!

Now, just to be absolutely sure. The hdd password you got from liveinfo. Was that with the new eeprom dump made by ConfigMagic? Did you try running my hddkey generator from xboxhdm with the exact same eeprom. I would be very surprised if they did not give the same password...

Think I know what went wrong with the directories copied with xbrowser. When you put files on the xboxhdm CD under windows the permissions on the files and directories when handled under windows are not "compatible" with the permissions when used with xboxhdm and your xbox HDD. I make sure the correct permissions are set when running xboxhd for building C and E, but did not consider this for xbrowser.

Will have to think of a good way to do this. There are easy ways but,....

You are very welcome for the support. I get valuable information out of this myself biggrin.gif

Hi!

Yes, the new pw from liveinfo was made with the new eeprom made by configmagic.
Burned that one to the cd in the eeprom folder. Run it through xboxhd option 5, but was given the same error (has mismatch) and the same pw as yesterday.
So I used the one from LiveInfo wit hdlock.

Ah, I see, sound logical with the permissions. I have 2 more hd for 2 more boxes waiting here. Is there a way for me to set the permissions right manually so I can use them with xbrowser? Want to do this because it´s way faster then FTP.

will go to bed now.

CODE

mkdir xboxE
mount -t fatx /dev/hda50 xboxE
chmod -R 755 xboxE/*
umount xboxE

Please check your PM.

I dont think it will work with a 4.7 Gb Hdd. The xbox is different from a PC in the way that the partition table is not really on the drive but is hardcoded in the xbox kernel. When the xbox boots it expects to be able to mount an E-partition with a given geometry (5Gb). If the 4.7 Gb will work or not depends on how the kernel will react on the E-partition not having the right geometry.

I know that something is checked on E as the xbox boots. For example it will not boot if the TDATA and UDATA folders are missing. However just for booting and setting the clock we dont really needed the filesystem on E for anything so I will not discard the possibility that the 4.7 Gb drive will work. I guess you could try! Dont see how that could hurt neither the drive nor your xbox...
