To get out of the loop, you may also leave the xbox unplugged for 2 hours and then the font exploit should load correctly (this has worked on a friend of mine)

Thats not going to work. The only way the font exploit will load is if the time is set. And leaving it unplugged isn't going to help. I think your friend just got lucky.

the best fix for the clock loop is the mechassault fonts. It worked perfect for me and for 3 other xboxes. They never had any clock loop again.

The very best solution is to use the double-dash exploit!

OK I give up,

I had a nice working stable font hacked xbox working just great - it was fab I could leave it off for any amount of time and it just worked.

In a fit of madness one night I thought I would try to put on a bigger HD and changed the bios on the disk to make sure it would work before I went to buy the new HD. The machine just came up blank but I could still get into it via the mechasault save game. I went to bed and pulled the plug on the xbox. I now have an xbox that starts up and pops the little green circle as if to set the clock then bangs up the phenoix then goes dead. I cant get a dvd to boot the damn thing and so far none of the tricks are working (my other xbox used to come out when I pluged in an active network lead)

I'm sure I could get it back with a hot swap.

Does anyone have any thoughts

Has anyone else had trouble getting the hotswap to work to fix a clock loop?

I cant seem to get the damn thing unlocked.  Ive tried unplugging the DVD drive, it goes to the "XBOX requires service" screen, then I do the swap (unplug the ide to the xbox hd, then plug in my pc's ide cable). Ive also tried just witing until the MS logo show up under the xbox logo too. Neither seem to work (and ive tried the xbox hd maker , as well as hd_driver for windows xp).

If anyone hjas some suggestions let me know, non e of the other solutions seem to work either. Would I be able to make my box usable again if I put in a physical mod chip as a last resort?

there must be a small moment the drive is unlocked. I've been told that you can hear little clicking sounds when it unlocks and locks back again so listen carefully a couple of times and try to figure out the moments of unlocking. It may also help if you take out the ide cable first then put it pack in but just a bit so that it barely makes contact an then turn on the xbox. that way you can pull out the cable much quicker so the drive has much less time to lock again. you could offcourse always put in a preflashed modchip to fix it.

one way i limited the looping is by making up a network loopback cable, same as a crosswired cable but cross wired to itself.if when left without power it starts looping i just power off and power on and it boots up fine.if anyone is interested in makeing the cable i`ll supply a diagram.all ya need is a patch lead and some tape.

hope this helps someone

seems to be the same as plugging the Xbox to a hub/router, or link Xbox with a cross cable with another PC.

not everyone has a router, wants to connect or has access in a particular room to a pc,this is just another idea for doing it without having a cable running from the livingroom to the computer /bedroom.

my box is stuck in the loop... I hope some of the solutions I found here will help... in the meantime, I'm switching my family xbox over to the UDE, since I'm afraid this'll happen again...

The UDE is really the most amazing xploit I've seen, and solves the loop problem...heh, bet we'll soon see loop posts dissappearing.

I don't know about that. Many newbs come in here and post about using such and such's mod. And those tutoriasl are very old and use old fonts that are prone to clock loops. If only people learned to read the pinned tutorials.  sad.gif

Yeah, ned got it, wayyyy too many people still use fon exploits and say "oh it doesn't matter i won't get in a loop".. and a few of them are using fon'ts like Free-X that cannot get out of loops at all...

The worst part of it all is that they actually think they know their shit and advise lots of n00bish people to use certain old stuff/tutorials.
