I have the new xbox, probably 1.5 or 1.4; (there's a whole confusion around it).

OK so I patched my new dash 'xboxdashdata.17F14D00' with 'xboxdash_dvd_region_free_patch.exe' and when I try to play the Region 2 DVD, It gives me a blank screen.

So I get my friends 1.1 Xbox Original  dash and tried to patch it with the same 'xboxdash_dvd_region_free_patch.exe' and get the same blank screen.

If I don't patch the dash board, I get the message that the dvd kit is of the incorrect region message on MS Dash.

dvdX dongle free also does not play the dvd's. I have quiet a few Region 2 dvd's which work correctly on my friends region free dvd player. Also when I change the dash, I replace all the files and subdirectories.

Try the following link :

This claims it can patch a 4920 1012a700 dash.

The problem may be due to video mode, do you get any sound? Try using "Enigmah-X Video Select" to swap between NTSC & PAL.

If none of the above work just check DVD-X2 and ensure the thing can be played on an XBox.
