New Package On Its Way!
« Reply #30 on: April 13, 2004, 02:28:00 PM »

sad.gif  Either unleshx is a little buggy in some situations or my code is wrong? Maybe its not as easy as I first thought, but I have a few ideas smile.gif

Either way, unleashX comes with a built in file browser so you can remove folders yourself if I decide its taking too long... I really want this out this week!

Anyhow, thats about that for this small update, I need some sleep  sleeping.gif

SO! Anyway the "Remove" feature will have to be in 2 steps, I can automate the removal of the exploit files (the fonts/audio) but then I will have to boot the file explorer so users can remove the Dashboards and PBL folders..

Its dead easy really.. smile.gif

Its a shame but everything else seems to work great! So thats a good thing! smile.gif

Expect it out soon, I may send it to a few testers today/tommorrow seen as the first test version had a small bug sad.gif

Also, after speaking with one of the testers I have decided to bulk up the FTP version of the package so it includes tHc, Avalaunch and a few Apps, maybe even media player smile.gif does anyone else think this is a good idea?

So the memory card version will be kind of a noob-lite version, easy to install and maintain with the FTP version a bit more advanced but with more features.

It will be kinda like havin "lite" and "fat" versions...

Also, I still want to release seperate versions that only use a single dash like an evox version and an mxm version etc..  but thats gonna take a while to cut up the code..

this sounds pretty good, but i already have a hacked XBOX, and i am guessing there will be problems if i try to run this auto installer
please confirm
i am pretty happy with my current set-up, but a few months ago i took my XBOX up to Vermont, which meant it was going to be without power for like 12 hours. Well, i have a regular outlet in my car, so i was able to plug it it and keep it alive, but that was a pain. That's really the only reason i'd like to have an optional audio hack

By the sounds of it all you would need to do is delete your fonts and this would install fine.. I will post more info in the Readme..

Will there be a "Remove fonts" function, so only audio?

Please explain the activate/deactivate/remove functions.

many thanks

Please explain the activate/deactivate/remove functions.

activate/deactivate
This will work in the same was as my old package. When you de-activate the fonts they will be re-named and a hacked ST.DB file placed in the music directory.
The opposite occurs when you re-activate them, so ripped audio works etc.

remove
2 Step procedure.

The 1st step deletes the hacked fonts/audio files and basically makes your xbox a normal unhacked box.

The 2nd step you have to do manually, its basically removing 2 folders that contain PBL and the Dashboards that the package installs on the E drive.

Its all very simple as you the file explorer and prompts run you through what to do.

Also... The only thing placed on C are the fonts! Unless you use tHc in the (PH)FAT version, the folder for that HAS to go on C.

Do you know what would be great,

A "remove font and activate audio",

This will remove all hacked fonts from c:, so C: will be virgin if you do not have tHc and you will have the audio hack.

I Think this would be great,

many thanks

digisatman, that would defeat the purpose of this package.  The whole point is to be able to switch between audio and font hacks whenever you want.  If the audio hack is active, then the fonts will be deactivated and you won't get into a clock loop.  If you only want the audio hack with no font hack at all, then just install Morden's package.

You could do this, just activate audio and the use the file explorer to delete the fonts..

sad.gif

I will post full instructions in the downloads readme file as to how to install the package Via FTP smile.gif

Good news is, one last test and the package should be out!

Hopefully by the weekend! Keep your eyes peeled wink.gif

P.S. The (ph)fat version will be a few more days, maybe longer, its gonna be simpler to put together due to its FTP nature but take longer to test due to all the different options!

Anyhow, my sig  cool.gif  should change when I get the new thing online.. Its a shame but the Best of Both worlds will have to get bumped to a smaller link sad.gif
