When using Audio you should try Mordens installer it does all this for you and works great!

The audio hack always loads the MS dash.  You have to enter the button sequence to get it to boot.

Also, check which ST.DB file you have.  Different versions load E:\linux.xbe, E:\linux.x, E:\exploit, or E:\pbl\p.  There isn't any that I know of that loads E:\default.xbe (but it could easily be edited to).  The easiest way is to open it up in a hex editor to check.  It will say something like d:\linux.xbe, but it actually loads from E: (by remapping drive D:).

No, what I mean is that , when I enter the button combo, it boots to MSDASH, like it "restarts" to MS. I'm using the St.db version which comes in your Signature(where you point out the steps to get the st.db from the code chunk posted)

Mordens cannot be run since it has PBL and my kernel is incompatible with it.

Ops! Missed that one.

Try signing the default.xbe with habibi, see if that helps.

did you add evox.ini along with exploit in the E: directory? You probably did but just want to make sure.

I did try one thing to narrow down the problem. I tried the audio hack with ST.db but without the exploit in the E: . What happened is that it gave me an error 21(duh, because its unable to find the file to run) but when i put in exploit, and all the sub folders of evox, it loads to MSdash so obviously the problem lies in the exploit part.

Got latest evox built from the usual places. Renamed it to default.xbe, signed it with Audio Key. Renamed it to exploit. Put all contents of Evox in E: of Xbox .

Try renaming evoxdash.xbe to linux.xbe instead. And if that doesnt work, try renaming it to the other names Grospolina has given you. lol and if that doesn't work, try PBL 1.4, I guess.  wink.gif

Maybe exploit needs .xbe at the end...

Okay, then E:\exploit seems to be the right name.

The only thing I can think of is that either EvoX is corrupted, or it's jumping to the MS dash for some reason.  For instance, it may think your clock is not set.  Try setting your clock.  Also, maybe you should edit your evox.ini to set "JumpToMsDash = No" and "JumpIfNoLink = No" (under [Clock]).

And yes, you can run homebrew apps from the HD with a TSOP flash.  You'll also be able to launch the dash directly (EvoX in your case) without the need for exploits or PBL.  You can still use PBL if you want to load another BIOS, but there really isn't a need for that.  However, you definitely wouldn't be able to go on Xbox Live.

ok signed default.xbe of the evoxdash  with habibi. Didn't work. Set the clock stuff to no. Didn't work. Renmaed exploit to linux.xbe didn't work. Got new evox dash from xbins. Didn't work.Guess I'm screwed. Anybody every suffered from this ?

What do I do now?  I knnow the only way out is to get a modchip or do a TSOP flash(which i hope to do this weekend) but I don't know how to run homebrew code from a TSOP flash, and how to load it in evox. ANybody ?  Direct me to a few tutorials if you know something. Thx.

By the looks of your posts in the TSOP Flashing forum, you've already gone and done it.
