Why don't you install an audio hack first to get configmagic running?
Strange how some people see all the eeproms with the code and some people see no eeproms with the code. Couldn't this have to do with pal/ntsc settings from within the eeprom? I think I will have a trie at this too to see for myself.

Okay found out the code has nothing to do with pal/ntsc settings. I haven't found the code in it also but that would be normal since i don't have a 5530 kernel. Too bad my french isn't good enough to take a look in those french hackin sites to see what they have done so far.

*edit* This is outdated seems like the code indeed changes by switchin over to another videomode so the code only appears in pal eeproms.

okay so now I compared an old ntsc eeprom, an old pal eeprom an a eeprom from a 5530 kernel. It seems like the code only appears in pal eeproms and not in ntsc eeproms. Also the statement that the code was in the beginning was wrong since it is halfway down somewhere. The code is exactly the same in both pal eeproms (old and new). There were a lot of other changes between the two but the code that was mentioned was exactly the same.

I've retrieved eeprom.bin with both Evox's backup feature (by both 007:AUF and fonthack) and ConfigMagic, but neither of them contain the string "000383000" (searched with UltraEdit in hexmode). Has anyone else have had luck with this hack?

I guess you have a ntsc xbox. If you wanna find the string switch over to pal and run backup again. And no there are no confirmations yet that this actually works. And since this string is changed by switchin over to another videomode I begin to doubt that this will actually work. We need some french speakin dudes overhere that can go to them french hackin sites to see what Yoshihiro is about.

Apologies for using the wrong term. Despite my wrong use of words, I did search correctly, and I do know the difference between hex and ASCII. Thanks for looking out for me tho'.

Has anyone got this to work already??

cause i dont think it will work.... the pbl developers already posted its not possible to use pbl in combination with 5530 or newer...

I would love to see a confirmation but i dont really believe in it..

With kind regards,
Marco

Hello,

Concerning this fix, please be patient !

As "legueux" (webmaster of the french site) said, there is no official release of yoshihiro.... so please wait their work were completely finished.

You can have confidence with the work of this great developer, but please you have to wait he confirm or infirm his work.

At this point, team gueux is working on it and had release nothing.

Thx.

Bye.
