The problem come from the EEPROM. What to do :
  * make a backup of the EEPROM with Config-Magic.
  * Transfer backup.bin to your PC
  * open it with a hexa Editor.
  * If the first Line is 0003800000000000 then replace the rest of the file with that :

  * Save as EEPROMBackup.bin and transfer it to e:\

Once again at this point wouldnt you mearly flash the TSOP with whatever bios you wanted?  I understand the possibility of using a softmod to keep possible compatibility in certain things area's/things. And I'm all for softmod'n the Xbox but it also gets to a point were you can accomplish a task with a much easier approach (such as once you have the TSOP points soldiered mearly put any bios you want on)

Eeprom not BIOS.

You don't need to solder or open the xbox to flash the eeprom.

Seems to be a patcher of some sort yoshiriho made.
Can't provide a direct link cause of the files inside the rar files.
But it's in the same topic.
Here are the names.

Voila mon flasher eeprom pour Focus c'est un cromwell modifier simple a utiliser vous avez besoin
de votre eeprom modifier est de savoir fair le Hot swap ou bien avoir un carte memoire et 007
on commence extraire le tout dans un repertoire quand c fait mettre eeprom a flasher dans le
meme repertoire nomer eeprom.bin pour faire simple prendre celle Evox c'est deja son nom
quand tout est dans le repertoire lancer : Patcher EEprom Yosh.bat des que c'est fait vous
ete donc pret a flasher mettre le default.xbe a la racine de C: comme le phoenix et le image.bin
redemarer votre console et suivre les indication a ecrant voila et dite pas que je ne fait rien
pour vous faciliter la vie oki bas a vous de jouer

His patcher is only a "Config-Magic" derived from Cromwell, nothing else... You need to edit your eeprom ( like I explain in the first post ).
Put his flasher and your eeprom ( eeprom.bin ) in the same directory, lauch the .bat
Put teh default.xbe and the image.bin to C:\, install and exploit ( font hack for example ) and reboot the xbox. Follow the instruction. Your EEPROM is flashed. Now, install phoenix ( via 007, MA, Splinter Cell or Hotswap ) and it works...
I'm sorry for my bad english, I'm French like Yoshihiro  :)

M$ can detect it the same way they can detect ANY exploit (i.e you should be OK with Audio, but fonts are a no no)

First of all, this sounds potentially dangerous.  Messing around with your EEPROM can render an Xbox inoperable, so BE CAREFUL!  Definitely use the patcher instead of trying to hex edit it yourself.

Also, I'd like to know what this changes and how it fixes it.  Just saying "change these bytes and it'll work" doesn't tell me much, and it doesn't give me much confidence that it won't break something else.

We already found out that PBL1.4.x didn't work for some people with Focus chips.  The problem seemed to be with which A/V cable people were using (standard or not), but I'm not sure if that's the final word on it.

If someone could open up a modified eeprom.bin and an unmodified one using liveinfo to see if there any differences, then I'd like to see that.

Lastly, I think DeltaTau is asking whether or not MS will detect the EEPROM change when you try to run it as retail.  I don't know the answer.

so you are asking if the eeprom is safe for live? after patching it, it should work correct? just not sure if it's live-safe?

In fact the original eeprom make a reset of memory and the bios that was charged (BFM bios) was deleted.

The line changed prevent the reset of memory.

It's in resume that Yoshihiro explained me.

Actually Yoshihiro is making et better XBE and I think we'll release explanations and files this morning.
