If you can get somebody to send you some files as explained here
These are all small files. You would need a live 1.0 game though

You need the xboxdashdata.10027100 folder and xboxdash.xbe but that's still over 40 megs

xbins doesn't have slayer's and even if you found someone with a high upload how the hell would that make any difference since you have dial-up. If you followed the link i provided you will see you only need a few small files and a live 1.0 game.

If u have any version dashboard that is complete and working, u only need 2 xips.
Your Xbox has the rest.

You only need keyboard.xip and settings_pannel.xip and old 4920 dash. they are a total of around 4 megs. But as oblox said u need xboxdashdata.10027100  folder and then u need all files from ur previous dashes folder to put in it. I recommend u get a torrent file of slayers disk. so u can resume ur download later.

Why would he download 300 megs when he only needs to download 4 megs?
If u and oblox are correct, then how could Mechassault upgrade older dashboards? They never had any xboxdashdata directories at all.
Take your time, read the post. The files get placed in C:\, not in any directories. The dashupdater does the rest.

P.S. kingroach, have u found the "catfish" installer yet?

As I've said to you before if the clock gets fucked up while your rebooting your way You might as well kiss your warantee goodbye ain't no way that's rebooting

So I tell people the safer way

That and people like to keep the live 2.0 system in place and it looks like your way doesn't work... well you could always rename xodash to something else and back again.

PS I do not claim to know exactly what the dashupdate.xbe and update.xbe look for when updating for all i know it's the signiture on the XIPs!

EDIT Just incase people are wondering the xip's inside the xboxdashdata are signed with regard to the xboxdash.xbe file

If u are really worried about rebooting, get Mechinstaller-Phoenix, everything is done from a memcard and no reboot is required.

oblox, stop posting on subjects u know nothing about.

I know, dash 4920 it looks for folder xboxdashdata.1012a700 and dash 5659 looks for folder xboxdashdata.17f14d00 and files inside folder. xodash doesnt effect downgradeing. its only used for xbox live. If u hav a new dash( live 2.0) and u just replace those two files and xboxdash.xbe then u cannt downgrade cz old dash looks for xboxdashdata.1012a700 folder.

I downgraded my dash to 4920 with hotswap. First time I just replace file and xbox gave me error 21. In next hotswap I created folder xboxdashdata.1012a700 and inserted files from slayers disk and then replaced xboxdash.xbe, xbox.xtf, xbox book.xtf and the rebooted and It workd fine.

go to http://forums.maxconsole.com/ and u will find it in exploit discussion form and it is posted by catfish. ITs not illegal for downloading cz it doesnt contain any illegal files like bios and other stuff. U need to fill those in specific folder urself.
