Do U Need Dash 4920?
« on: February 26, 2004, 03:17:00 AM »

All that is needed is a Live 1.0 enabled game, any Xbox and 2 XIPS (Keyboard.xip and settings_panel.xip from dash 4920 or earlier).

I'm sure deleting or renaming the .xbe is the whole point of this downgrade. I bet if you don't do it nothing happens. You should always have a backup though.

If you delete or rename the xboxdash.xbe and you happen to lose the time on your clock then reboot = time to hotswap or buy a modchip

oblox, maybe u should read the entire post before taking my words and paraphrasing.
Besides that, I saw u tell ppl to delete xboxdash.xbe yourself, so what are u trying to do with this post? Up your post-count?

Pissy or not, if you're gonna quote me, be accurate. There's enough incorrect info around here already.

If post-count isn't a big deal to u, why is it incorporated into your signature?

If u need to to downgrade dash like that u need crate a folder name "xboxdashdata.1012a700" and insert all the file from slayers disk. i tried that method and my xbox gave me error 21 then I figured out live 1.0 dash doesnt recognize live 2.0 folder so u need to create live 1.0 folder not just replace files from live 2.0 folder.

No, if you need to downgrade like that, u need to follow the instructions as posted.
The dashupdater will create all needed directories and xboxdash doesn't care which version of Live is installed.

All Live 1.0 enabled disks have this ability.

mkjones, u may wanna play around with the newer dashupdaters.
I know for a fact that exploited fonts in the root of C: will cause the 1.0 updater to freeze. This may make your softmodding favors a bit harder to break.
So no fonts in C: and exploited fonts in C:\fonts may stop the update dead.

Well, I havent tried your tutorial as yet, but it looks a lot more feasable than what I have been trying...

Also, I run the Audio Exploit, never botherd with Fonts, not yet anyway...
