I know of 2 xboes that couldnt be downgraded, one was an old v1 that had been upgraded twice to the latest Live! versions. I couldnt downgrade it using any of the methods availiable.. it just error 21ed all the time so I just got it chipped..

the other was some guy in another forum/web place that had the same problem, dunno what his xbox version was but he gave up and got a chip...

The fact that you or other guys don't know how to downgrade doesn't mean the xbox cannot be dowgraded at all.

Ive downgraded a couple for a few friends in the past, but their seems to be the odd one that doesnt like the C drive I used, so I gave up, after all I wasnt getting paid or anything like the chippers..

Besides some people are morons, sure I help them downgrade, then the week after they go and run CounterStrike and bloody upgrade again.. Its a lost cause and a pain and a shame we have no new exploits espcially with M$ doing the dirty with new games that upgrade you without saying...

I still didn't get no 100 % confirmation that some new games actually upgrade without warning.
And I know that some very old xboxes don't have a font folder but only fonts in the root so if you'd put a c backup of someone else there i don't know if that works. I only replace the actual dashfiles and never had any problems downgrading.

Well gratz on the mod but soft modding a non 5530 kernel X-Box aint that much of an acomplishment. Get PBL to work (even with flicker) on a 5530 kernel box and u are my hero!!!

You get a very small warning on counterstrike about it updating and it does this when you go to go into the game
