Xbox Hardware Refresh Disc
« on: February 06, 2004, 02:14:00 PM »

My xbox is in a clock loop, and I have the Xbox Hardware Refresh Disc. (I wrote earlier about the same topic, but im asking a different question now)

What Happens when the Disc is In the Xbox and the Xbox is started.
The xbox loads up normally, and with the disc in the drive, it doesn't loop, it goes to a screen that says:
                                               System Refresh
                                       Xbox Successfully Updated
                                         XTL Version 1.00.4020.1

Then the xbox disc drive opens up for you to take out the disc. (It stays at that screen)

btw, When my cat5 is plugged into the xbox and modem at the refresh screen, the xbox lights on the back (the internet ones) are lit, (nlinking orange and the steady green)

My question is "Should I leave my xbox at that screen with the internet hooked in overnight and see if the loop gets fixed, or is there no hope for me?"

I find it amazing though that that disc boots, even when I have a clock loop.

If you want me to clearify anything, respond. And of course if you have any advice please respond.

                                  thanx,
                                     Gman13

i saw this disk http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=20385

this is the same disc that this person is talkin about right?

well, back to my question...i had used the font exploit and it had messed up my hdd, i could not even boot up a game disc or up to the normal dash...

so do you think buyin this disc would fix my fucked up hdd?  i was really considerin it because my import shop said the only way to fix it was to get a modchip and install an unlocked hdd($170), because i could not unlock mine(no key)...

give me feedback please!!

That's the disk. It didn't work for me. It resets the config file, deletes the music, and kills all the savegames but doesn't actually reinstall anything.

I use PBL booting either XBMC or EVOx on startup with the font exploit.
If i ever accidently leave the xbox unplugged for a few hours and it starts looping, I have reloaded on the xbox and it doesnt take long for it to loop out and then ive made a font to audio switch and vice versa. This allows me to change the original msdash clock and its fixed till next time.

Ive done this to many xboxes

well i just got a brand new xecuter 2.3 pro installed yesterday, so i dont have to use the shitty font exploits anymore!! :D

it looks so sweet and lights my xbox up with its blue led...hehe...

so thanks for the feedback but the guy that installed it for me gave me a new hdd that was unlocked and he locked it back up for me, so basically i have a brand new system that i can use on live and play evox!!!hehe...
