Which Slayers CD do you have? I thought v2.5 included dash 4920, but that one in your pic looks like dash 4817,

Thats what I thought! Its an old CD from a mate, he doesnt know what version it is... So neither do I...

I still don't see why it wouldn't work

1. You're not copying over the hacked fonts from your Xbox, are you? If you are, and default.xbe is missing, it will give you an error.

No, the fonts are originals I am running the Audio Hack (Mordens)

QUOTE
2. You didn't rename your friend's xboxdashdata.1012A700 to xboxdashdata.17f14d00 after you copied it, did you? You shouldn't do that.

Nope, its all "as is" I only re-named it once when I tried that tutorial, and that was a copy of the origional structure, the files you see on the pics are the ones I have, no re-naming or anything.

QUOTE
3. You didn't edit the xboxdash.xbe for some reason, did you?

You mean HEX? naaa...

QUOTE
4. What exploits/mods are you using in your working Xbox?

Just Mordens Audio v3.

See, its mad???

Its a pretty old box, would that make a difference? I really cant work it out?

Okay one more try then I have nothing more I'm afraid (I can only presume if this doesn't work theres something wrong with your comp/network)

On your friends xbox
Delete settings_adoc.xip and xboxdash.xbe from his c: drive

Now from your backed up copy of your hard drive copy into his c: drive

xboxdash.xbe and the folder (and its contence) xboxdashdata.1012A700

and do not rename anything then try booting it BEFORE you go all mod crazy.

IF that was the case then the backup I made of his origional C drive would have messed up to and I wouldnt have been able to restore his xbox, see what I mean??

Right, I kind of tried this already, but I didnt delete the settings_adoc.xip file.. But its worth another shot...

I always do.. Its not up to me to mod it, I just wanna get it working for him, he can do the legwork like install media player etc... wink.gif

QUOTE
my dash folder is called xboxdashdata.10027100, NOT xboxdashdata.1012A700. I've seen 1012A700 on other Xboxes though.

That sounds a little crazy? Is the 10027100 folder availiable on the slayer CD?

QUOTE
The only thing that I can think of is to get Slayers 2.5 CD and copy it from there.

I will have a look for it, the version I have must be old, but im losing my mind, I may reccomend he just gets a chip sad.gif
