Pheonix Is Causing The Screen To Scramble.
« on: January 21, 2004, 12:56:00 PM »

I installed Pheonix 1.3 and B&E Reloaded on my Xbox, it worked fine. I went over to my friends house and did it to his Xbox, but when it loads the screen is scrambled. I did some searching and it turns out that default.xbe is causing the problem. When I replaced the Pheonix default.xbe with the Free-XEvox default.xbe, and it worked... but it wont run any programs. My xbox is refurbished, his is the CloneWars+Tetris bundle.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Help! I have a similar problem... It's a box with 5101 kernel (focus chip) and 4920 dashboard.
I have the same problem now.

the signed package from xbins has the right one, use the 4979 or 4980 bfm from xbins also, dont need to change any keys or anything,  put the bios in the Bioses folder and name it xboxrom.bin

Do I use 4980.06 or 4980.67? Do I need to make it a megabite?

Sega,

Both 256k BFM or 1 Meg BFM Bioses will work.. and if you have a retail HD it doesn't matter if it's a .06 or .67

Great, thank you guys, I would have never figured it out by myself.

Do you think it would be smart for me to update my Xbox to the latest bios and pheonix loader? or should I not try to fix what isnt broken?
