Loads of people are having trouble with september release xbox's, me included.

I have modded loads, but the september one gives me problems.

It seems it just pbl that wont work, you can load evox and signed games no problem.

Maybe we just need to wait for a newer version of pbl.

I think we are goint to need a new PBL too. I just tried an October2003 Xbox, and replaced the dash with 4920. That went OK, but after PBL loads, evox will not appear. I tried just evox by itself (font signed) and it WILL load. So, like Ddaddy says, you can load evox, but you will have to sign the xbe's to boot games. I tried it with EvoxM7, Evox D6, and X24979 BFM bios, and all of them fail to load. I know these are good BFM bios too, since I have used them on other boxes before, including my own. This kind of sucks, but at least games can still be backed up and played until a solution arrives. I also tried the new Evox release just in case, and that won't work either.
BTW, did you guys notice that the sticker with the MFG dates on these models is printed in a different font? Taller and skinnier. Well, I know what to tell people to look for now at least. Hope a real solution comes up soon.

sorry to go a bit off topic, but after getting evox working by using exploits, have you successfully been able to flash the TSOP on the september boxes that arent working with PBL?

Ca you guys give me step by step on usig Evox without Pbl? I have a chipped box which I use to format and lock the swapped 120 Gig drives with. Yes, I get the eeprom off the box to be modded so that the system unlocks the drives correctly when booting. I Have a custom Evox Disck that I use to copy C drive which has the 4920 Dashboard. It generally copies the Bert + Ernie fonts and  PBL 1.3.5i using Xecuter2 4979. If I have to sign all the xbes then thats ok but I wanted to get this system running for a friend's kids for Xmas. How do I get Evox alone working?

Is there a faq or tut on signing? How do I  sign the xbe's to boot games, etc?

I have the same setup as Javamahn except mfd: 9-25.2003

What does the PBL do exactly? Can I just make do with Evox until a new version comes out?

I usually flash tsop on all xbox, but one particular v1.4 manufact sep 03, would not flash, so I used pbl 1.3.5i, 4979.06 bfm and it worked fine.

Just install evox without pbl  rolleyes.gif

If you use an install pack that contains pbl, then i suggest finding one that doesnt.
Or download evox and follow tutorials on how to install it.

QUOTE (Javamahn @ Dec 12 2003, 12:27 AM)
So far I can see the fonts getting me to the pbl for the bios but after the defaul xboxrom.bin loads it's just a blank screen with green and red lines and no Evox. Is there a definative set of files that works with this system?

4 days ago, this question was answered. Download Evox M7 BIOS and rename it to xboxrom.bin. send it to your C drive (Replace the original) All done. You should be able to access Evox now.

i am not sure about this, but what if you were to use the files from an older xbox version, like the c drive (and maybe e drive) files...

copy them all over
i read that that makes the xbox 2.0 updated xboxes work...

my xbox has MFD 29th sept 2003.

i managed to it working using a combination of:

evox3935 dash + ini
PBL 1.3.5i SIGNED FONT exploit
M7_ef_BFM.bin renamed to xboxrom.bin in the bioses folder that comes with PBL 1.3.5i

i think the key is having a bios with BFM... (boot from media)

@all
Please stop posting, if you don't know what's up. Don't post if you have not read
the first thread about the Beast Packs. And don't post if you don't have a September
XBOX (if you know the solution, you are mayed to answer)
@Jonny B
thank you for your help, but you are not the first one who modified a September XBOX (MFD after 2003-09-22) I think everybody knows that ONLY BFM Bioses work with PBL.

PEACE
