I have a old solderless matrix xodus v 1.0 executer 2 that was installed with the help of an old friend who didn't show me what he did or how he did it. Since then I have come across a problem. I was playing a game on disk and went to save the game, the next day when i went to restart it the MS error comes up telling me to contact MS. I'm almost sure that the file is bad and is blocking start up. Is there a way to get into the ms dashboard and get rid of the file or is there something else wrong with the box altogether.

nope checked the chip the lite is a go, the front button blinks red and green and I checked the chip but its all good. I later switched the old hard drive with the one in there and it started fine so thats why i've narrowed it down to the mod harddrive and the bad saved file.

Sorry mand the save game file is on Drive letter E: so the save game file will not cause this.  The error message is becuase if you had a dashboard on there the dashbord is missing and the last dash that loads up is the msdash and I am guessing that the msdash might be messed up someover way.

Try loading a game instead of just booting up the xbox.  The game should load fine unless you have the bios not load d: drive first.

Soultion ti this is if the DVD drive loads is to make a evox boot disk and then fix the problem via ftp access.

Is this the original game or a burnt game.

Also what is the MS error your getting.

You can also put in both hard drives if you wanted to just get a power y spliter for the power and disconnect the dvd.
