Matrix Reflash Question
« on: July 21, 2004, 12:28:00 PM »

Im helping my friend reflash his matrix but I was wondering, do I hafta pull the matrix out and reflash it with the programmer, or can I just use EvoX's soft flash on its dash instead?  and the size of it is 256 right?

you can use evox to flash your matrix, make sure the chip is in flash mode first I'll refer you to the matrix users manual for that as you need to adjust 2 little switches on the chip. make sure your file is 256 in size then flash your chip.

i got the matrix and also want to upgrade bios. the manual refers to turning both dip switches off to flash via dvd rom. is that what you do? should i leave the dip switcheds off permanently?

well well.. i opened it up a the f cking thing isnt even a proper matrix.  originally i ordered a xecuter2 and thats what i thought it was until i installed evox. the thing booted up saying "Matrix inside". I thought no problem, the only thing is the bios which is smaller. After a year i decided to upgrade the bios and i just opened it up! I was ripped off! :(

who cares what kind of chip it was as long as it worked right and didnt give you any problems.  and there are editors to modify what the bios reads.
