k i have confirmation from cluis that it works so it must work...
i have phillips and it read my memorex cd-rw like a charm, no dummy files needed...i poped in slayers when evox was loaded and it says "Evox CD!"
meaning it worked....
now i just need to find a hard drive.......

Everyone Else: i heard somewhere on these forums that the EEPROM u get from the backup feature only works on locking and unlocking on the ORIGINAL HDD and u needed to use some program to use ur old eeprom to generate a new eeprom for ur new hdd? if that's not true all i do is use slayers and put in my eeprom from evox? then it'll lock?

You just use the slayers disk to upgrade your HD? But dont the slayers disk only work with a modded (chiped) xbox? And wouldnt they simply 'overwrite' your exploited box??

This is normal when you ftp with EvoX. Is it not? Or did I miss your point you were trying to make? D "partition" is your dvd drive.

Heh. Let me try to explain. You SOFTmod your xbox (meaning using exploits like audio, font, 007, etc) to boot to evox. This will allow u to run unsigned code, like Slayer. Using your "softmod EvoX", you load Slayer's EvoX. Then follow the tutorial, and SUPPOSELY it works. But as you can see, people are having problems and we arent getting much feedback. So I hope that helps.

no because ur removing ur old hard drive with all the exploits and stuff, putting in a new one and formatting

Jace said he also had a prob with the C D E whatever drive u have.....cept urs says it's all 0, his says it's all FULL.....ur the only 2 that said this prob...

Also check www.fatwallet.com forums for some great deals on hd's. I got my WD 120 gb 8mb cache, 7200 rpm for only $40 after jumping through a lot of hoops and rebates. But hey it was worth it. Only thing is that my particular model wasn't lockable, but I'm chipped anyways so it don't matter too much. Good luck on this tutorial guys. I just modded my friend's 1.5 with audio exploits and I bet this tutorial will come in handy when he wants to upgrade. Just wish that there was more concensus as to the validity of the method.

omfg.......great...i got flashfxp and sent raw commands, echoed a key, formatdrive "key" it said it wuz doing it...nothing was happening and i noticed the evox thingy stopped spinning on the bottem right corner..so it froze...then i decided to just format it using slayers/evox again but then it freezes before it even starts to format..later i'm gonna just do it the hard way i guess..i just hope this hard drive isn't obsolete...i had to get a OEM drive from frys cuz they were out of the new 40gb, and in the end it was 81$....for 40 fucking gb...if i had 5 more bucks i coulda got an 80 giger and 20 more bucks a 120 giger....frikin

Im gettin a 120 gb hardrive for xmas and i want to do this because ill probably screw up the other tutorials this seems so easy but perhaps too easy i would love for others to confirm that this actually works.
