well the ip shouldnt really be effected all he has to do is choose static ip and reboot but yeah i guess ill just do it the old fashoned way then

he couldn't change the ip. there was no 'save and exit' in evox. when he rebooted it was the black screen of death.

ok uhmm after the first time it "wrote config sector" it never did again, it just froze from then on, i think this has huge bugs in it...
first time i did format it wrote config sector, formatted etc. but said space is 0
2nd time i tried again, said writing config sector, i notice that the evox symbol stopped spinning..in other words it froze...

anyone got a way of getting correct EEPROM? the one evox gives me doesn't work, i tried opening eeprom.bin using liveinfo and taht one didn't work (or i did something wrong).....so does anyone have a program i use while having FTP acces to xbox and then get EEPROM taht way?

yea right now i'm looking at other tutorials but none of them are extremly easy either that or it will need linux...
so far i have a way of doing it easily
turn on xbox and leave it on so xbox auto unlocks
then follow this tutorial

so now u don't have to unlock the stock hard drive, just use winhex to clone it, uhmm i'm not sure how to get EEPROM for new hdd using liveinfo (or at all in that case) so somehow do that, lock new hdd, tada...
remember YOU MUST LOCK THE NEW HARD DRIVE IF U HAVE NO MOD CHIP or else it won't work because u don't have a bios loading to avoid unlocked hdds...cuz PBL loads after hdd is detected...
however on a modchip if ur harddrive is unlocked it will work just not on MS dash...

SOMEONE TEST THIS PLEASE! I MYSELF HAVE NOT TESTED THE THEORY OF NOT UNLOCKING IT WITH EEPROM!

ya i already mentioned that tutorial, the hardest part was getting a registered winhex

but just my computer is really weird cuz i'll have to disconnect everything i have in my comp for this stuff to work and i'm too lazy to do that because all my IDEs are filled...
i guess i'll do that on my friend's computer but he has an emachine...in other words a piece of shit u call a bios and i'm not sure if it'll work the same way with the hard drive detection and crap
