Tray Won't Eject Normally With Pbl1.3bf
« on: October 01, 2003, 11:05:00 AM »

The weirdest thing I just noticed where in evox where it shows statistics (mobo&cpu temp, disk space, etc)

In the DVD status where it usually says no disc or something.

That now reads OPEN.

Hardware?

The people that made the tutorials are the same ones I use in the Hackdash section of the forums. The reason they couldn't get it to work is that they used it with a modchip. But its still easy to use it on a softmodded xbox. If you looked carefully in the replies there are people who did get it to work.

I don't exactly remember my process since i hardly like resiging the xip,xap stuff. It just involved copying the dashdata folder over to a different directory and editing it and hexediting the msdash.xbe to point to that folder.

Xboxhakur- I will try later on to see if it'll work on my comp.

Ok I'm not running into any eject or bootup/shutdown lag anymore. It just mysteriously worked again. After I ran my PC Dvd drive on there that is. Dunno what that really meant. But on the Xbox DVD drive have no problems ejecting whenever i want. And playing DVD movies are working. But got my copy of Halo back.

Doesn't work. Power on with the disc in and it reboots constantly after running the fonts. It shouldn't do that when it powers on with a disc right? Dunno why it should load the fonts when it shouldn't. Original bios defect?

When I put the disc in afterwards on the evox screen and run dvd from there, I'll get on the loading screen of evox then it fades back to evox!

If it runs dvd movies. Then not being able to run original xbox games I guess it's software.

Frustrating aint it?

when i can eventually read the disk it will load but it jumps like crazy.

i figured my drive is shagged it is a phillips after all i will try fuckin with the connections as i havent opened my box in a while i would be suprised if it works tho sad.gif

So you can't play midtown madness or you can't play anything but mm3?

I can do basically everything now except to play my only original disc. Halo. Haven't tried other games and backups yet.

EDIT*: I found a backup of MidnightClub2 and ftp'ed it to the xbox and it doesn't run as well.
Another thing is that in the evox stats where I'll see the Kernel as 1.00.4977.01 and under Bios it says UNKNOWN.

I never noticed before if it should say at least something.

So your problem is hardware we assume. But I think mine is from software since I'm not able to run any xbox games. Just only regular apps and emulators.

afon = I'm not in any clock loop. Never have. I'm still able to load up evox and run apps and emus. As for games I'm still not able to play original or backups on disc and hdd

Xboxhakur= Who in the world would not take care of their Halo disc? And yes I did check the cables and its not the cables if I'm still able to play Dvd movies.

I think its the default ms bios that is acting up. It shouldn't bypass a game disc when its in the xbox. From the sequence that I see it doesn't even care to look at the disc and boots directly to the msdash which eventually loads the fonts and evox. Trouble is I never even touch or thought about flashing my TSOP
