I feel informative, so instead of telling you to use the search button..ill tell you! You got lucky  rolleyes.gif

What happends is; when your xbox gets un-plugged for a certain amount of time, the clock inside the xbox looses time. Then, when you reboot...a message pops up and asks you to set the time. Well, here lies the problem: The message displayed uses the fonts YOUR EXPLOITING. The reason it doesnt want to correctly overflow and load the dash is unknown, but we know it doesnt like to overflow when the clock is dead. The bigfonts have had success cutting down the number people affected by this, but to some its still an unconvienince, and for some it can be deadly. SO DONT USE THE FONT EXPLOIT, USE THE AUDIO EXPLOIT. If you need these files, i might be able to help you..PM me.

Hmmm,
Didn't realize there was a clock exploit....
Anyways, if you want to be sure you won't get the clock loop, just update your ms dash with unreal tournament. I am not sure what version of the dash unreal updates to but I do know that this version is loop free. Stick with the font hack, audio hacks are kinda lame IMO.

dont think thats correct.. there IS NO fix for the clock loop for everyone at this time

I didn't say it was a fix, but thanx for flaming me anyway smile.gif. All I am saying is I use that version of the dash and I have never looped. I have shipped xboxes modded in this way and they didn't loop. I have left my box unplugged overnight and it didn't loop. Go back to the modchip forums if you are going to call us noobs ok dick?

UT updates to the same ver as everything else.

I would say that you have been lucky, you probably have the loop but the fonts recover it for you.

It is not always the case though. My final decision to switch to the audio exploit (and make my package) involves a sad story about bringing my X over a friends house and sitting there embarassed, as my "Awsome new hacked machine, that can do everything under the sun, and once I show you this you will rush out and get one!" not only didn't do anything under the sun, but wouldn't even boot.

Needless to say, my friend did NOT rush out and get one! What they did do is sit there laughing at the fact that MS is even capable of crashing on a console system! (nevermind that I had a big hand in that! wink.gif)

Once I got it back home I let it loop for 2 days before finally admitting defeat and restoring the thing back to virgin.

At this point, if you are worried that the X may be denied power for more than a couple of hours, just use the audio exploit. Sure it doesn't boot up hacked, but it's not that hard to invoke, and doesn't have any chance of the loop.

On the other hand, if you know you will NEVER unplug your X, then go for the font exploit!

i think what sabwafare might be talking about, is that with a live enabled dash and live ethernet connection, the clock loop does seem to be solved.

i have yet to se a post from someone with a live-enabled dash, and a ethernet connection that could not get out of the clock loop.

anyways, my advice is this, try the font ecploit, test the loop, if you come out of the loop that's it, you're good and you'll always be good. If you don't ever come out then hotswap again, restore your old hd, and use the audio exploit.

How exactly is it that some people come out of the loop and still other don't?  I used the bert and ernie font exploit on a friends xbox cause he didn't want to open it up.  It worked well and then he got caught in a clock loop because I forgot to tell him not to unplug the xbox.  So he decided to plug it in a leave it that way for a couple days and low and behold everything worked.  Does this mean that the clock loop will never be a big deal for him?

scooby: could this because a LIVE enabled dash with a proper ethernet connection can hop on an MS server grap the time?

stanneh: it could be possible that UC (its unreal championship, not tournement) is a "vaccine" for the clock loop with what ever fonts he is using because the fonts may have been designed as "compatible" with that dash version...

oh yeah... so how do i switch from fonts to audio?

i hate audio hacks for these reasons (not necessarily in this order)

  • I have a font exploit
  • i don't know how to do an audio exploit
  • the new movie "Underworld" is totally awesome
  • font hacks are cool
  • so are ninjas!
  • i'm a poop-head
  • my font hack works great and i'm happy with it... why mess with a good thing?

i hope you all see my point.
