Are you sure you're trying to use the right pw?  Its not the hdd key you need..  Plug your drive in, load your eeprom in liveinfo and see what it tells you the password is...

i can't use liveinfo with a locked hdd... or not? huh.gif

How can i get a sure hddkey?

i've read about linux... but i don't understand nothing biggrin.gif

------------------------
"1. Using 007/MA hack or font/audio hack, use Evolution-X's 'backup' feature. FTP into the xbox and copy the C:/backup folder over to somewhere on your computer.

Some users have had problems with obtaining the wrong eeprom/hddkey.txt. If one hack gives you the wrong eeprom (the xbox cannot unlock the new drive) try obtaining the eeprom using a different hack. The 007/MA hack seems to have the most accuracy. Use them if possible."

my soft mod was made with hotswap and i use font exloit (bernie etc..).

my hddkey is wrong?

what can i install 007/MA hack without a memory unit?

can i do with FTP?

Hi, thanks very mucho for this tutorial, al went fine!
(except on the 18th step, that I had to use the unlockx to lock the drives, because they didn“t got locked with the tutorial steps)

anyway, anyone could tellme why I have to keep the original xbox hd as backup? just in case the replacement get broken?  If I do not keep theoriginal hd Could I install a new hd on the xbox using the UXE, UDE or any other exploit? or the only way then will be installing a modchip?
thanks in advance

I have an xbox with a modchip that's dying (a piece fried on it but I can still get it to boot most of the time) so I plan on soft modding it to fix it. Seemed like the thing to do since I can already get into evox to load up the exploits.

The problem is I already have a new hard drive installed with all the necessary files on it plus a lot of my own (40 gigs worth). Is there anyway I can lock the HD through evoX or ftp or something without Live Info?

plz help

xbox 1.0,

You should be more specific on WHICH Norton Ghost you used not just, "Go out and get a Norton Ghost that may or may not work."  Ghost 9.0 DOES NOT HAVE A BOOT DISKETTE!

You should use Norton Ghost 2003.

Hey, I know this is a really dumb question...but I created a boot disk with ghost and everything, but my comp will not boot from it!  I set it as the 1st priority but it doesn't recognize it as a sys disk and will not boot.  I am not sure if I am using the right ghost, as mine is called symantec ghost.  Any help would be appreciated.

**IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLES MAKING BOOT DISK READ THIS**

I know I sure had a heck of a time getting the boot disk to work...so I decided to add this little tidbit to sottilde's excellent article.
1. Put floppy in drive
2. Go to right click>format
3. check "Ms-Dos boot disk"
4. Format
5. Put new floppy in drive
6. Go to c:/program files/symantec/ghost  and get ghost.exe
7. Put ghost on it's own folder in the floppy
8. Do the same for atapwd and hdunlock
9. Boot up with the ms dos disk you made
10. Once it boots, take it out and put in the ghost disk
11. cd ghost>ghost.exe -OR- cd atapwd>atapwd.exe -OR- cd hdunlock>hdunlock.exe

Hope that helps!

I need some help using norton ghost.  The source and destination are backwards.  It will only let me choose the new drive as the source and the xbox hd as the destination.  Help would be appreciated.

For anyone wondering why you can't select source drive, be sure to type ghost.exe /ir

im having problem if anyone can help, it'll be greatly appreciated.

i recently bought a 250WD hd, on the compatable xbox list.
i created a boot disk with xboxhdm and successfully created the files on my NEW HD.

the problem is i got a bunch of 40 digit passwords from my eeprom in the evox backup folder.  which none locks properly, getting error 5 error 6.

what do i do now?  somehow, the original xbox HD is also screwed, with error 5/6, must of pulled out it's power when it was on switching my HD around.

what can i do now?  both HD wont boot on XBOX

How does this work with large Hard drives? (250gb+) I was under the impression there is a size limit on Xbox partitions and the xbox drive only has C and E by default.
