I finally got it working by using a different PC: worked first time.
Just trying to figure out how to format the new space now so MXM can see it...

Hey,

I made a mistake on a HD and locked it using a password I no longer have access too. No keys or eproms or anything.

My questions is, is there really NO way out of this?

Saw someone mention low level formatting, that would be no problem, but the pc doesnt see the drive...

Just wanted to confirm that is is a goner... smile.gif

120gb seagate 8mb cache hd btw.

I often heard but never checked it myself that if you lock a drive with config magic there is a master pasword named "TEAM-ASSEMBLY" or something.

well go check the evo-x forums and try to find out if evo-x uses some sort of master password to lock. It's your only chance.

well I tried the tutorial but come to the same problem green letters xbox requires service but there is not error number in the corner so it led me to believe that the image was  done wrong so that is why i have done both tutorials 2 or 3 times a piece. I have a seagate 40gb hard drive and my xbox is running the doubledash exploit. at the end of both tutorials orig xbox hd will still work but the new one will not. i am positive that i am using the correct calculated password but my question lies with the eeprom.bin file. when i started my xbox system booted to 007 and loaded the gamesave hack when to backup and found no backup folder on the c drive. so i then just rebooted the xbox and hit xbox live to load the double dash exploit and the backup function from the evox did make the backup folder with the files. the only thing that i could think the problem is that i have loaded the wrong eeprom.bin file the one i get from the backup folder has to be wrong. should the backup function work when booting 007 memcard hack? Is it ok to just used the doubledash backup? Can anyone help me out????

Atapwd reports my drive is unlocked (I hotswapped it into my box) but the security level is set to maximum.  Ghost wont see the drive.  What gives?

I did change my xbox hd password to a familiar password I use for evething (used hdlock).  Realizing my mistake I unlocked the drive with the password I used before and then used hddisabl.

I'm assuming my master password is different from the user password?  I have my eeprom and the config magic text file, though I have tried entering these into atapwd, but it doesn't seem to work.

Edit:  I did find my password log file and it just has the xbox HDD password from config magic along with the password I tried to enter 'BARKER'.  I also have a dir called input, that has a file named input and hdpass.

I keep getting an error when I try to load the eeprom.bin in liveinfo.   It tells me that it cannot be decrypted and is not a valid eeprom file.  I have UDE2 installed and I used Itools MA installer to install it.  When I back up in evolution x it is not creating a backup folder at E\.  I did find files being modified in UDATA.  But when I use that eeprom, I get the error I stated before

Edit  Bah, eeprom is all messed up cause it's a 1.6 xbox.

I soflmoded my xbox and I wanted to install a larger HD. We followed a Tutorial on this site and now both HDs are not booting evox. It keeps reading the dvd drive and then reboting. I got no errors come on the screen so I don't think we typed a wrong key. We did however load Xboxmedia centre to the Xbox HD before we backuped the folder with the HD key on it. But if we got a wrong key why would the xbox HD unlock. Anyway, I reley need someone to help me or I'm giving up. Thanks!

i can't unlock xbox's original hd!

i used unlockx and hdunlock ... nothing!

The hd remain locked.

i have read this on your guide to change hd whit mod soft:

"1. Using 007/MA hack or font/audio hack, use Evolution-X's 'backup' feature. FTP into the xbox and copy the C:/backup folder over to somewhere on your computer.

Some users have had problems with obtaining the wrong eeprom/hddkey.txt. If one hack gives you the wrong eeprom (the xbox cannot unlock the new drive) try obtaining the eeprom using a different hack. The 007/MA hack seems to have the most accuracy. Use them if possible."

my soft mod was made with hotswap and i use font exloit (bernie etc..).

my hddkey is wrong?

what can i install 007/MA hack without a memory unit?

can i do with FTP?

Please help me.
